Why would you move and not have that shop in your backyard to work on your car. I'd much rather live out in the country with a big yard to park your trailers and projects, big shop, screened in pool, cool neighbor, drift buddy roommate. Idk what your reason for wanting to move to Orlando but I wouldn't leave that place if I didn't have to.

I agree he has freedom and a garage with lifts between them they have so much equipment a genuine mechanic would be green with envy. I wouldn't leave without a real pressing reason.

I know driving sucks going to events, but with someone like Ben, you're not only guaranteed to have someone who knows Miatas inside and out, but you have someone who is willing to help you. Not knocking Matt and the crew in Orlando, but Ben is better for this channel. The garage is too. Nothing says, "It's a beautiful day in Florida," like you walking out of the house past your enclosed pool with a huge yard. Orlando doesn't have the space or vibe you set with the channel, my man. If I were in your shoes, I would stay where you are. Where you are living now is every car guy's dream. Huge garage, huge yard for spare cars and trailers, you can park anywhere on the yard from what I've seen. The only downside is the scammed driveway and possibly the narrow exit to the street when you leave/come in with a trailer. Outside of that, you're set, man. Plus, you're secluded from the public eye. One last thing, neighbor Al. You can't leave that man from his shenanigans.

As much as I wanted to see your miata finished I was honestly bummed I didn't have the content to look forward to anymore.. I cannot put into words how stoked I am to see this build. I have been commenting asking to get Ben a better car for a year. Build the white car. You’re telling me you wouldn’t be able to Mach up a trans tunnel.

Oh my god, don't toss the Xida. Sell and get the XL to run with knuckles if needed. They will work great for drifting. They are money and will have more travel than anything else.

I would say go accusump. Yes you know how dry sump works but accusumps have been known to work and mostly likely far simpler and more cost effective. Pull the subframes out of the white miata and just transfer it all over. It's got the cage in the blue and it gets to keep power windows. Get it fully set up ready to drop the aluminum block in and check the "5.8" and use it as a drag engine 🤷‍♂️

ben needs his own channel lol and if you do move just get ben to let you store the enclosed trailer at his place.

The suspension on that car is the Supermiata Big Grip kit. The Xidas and sway bars, might also have the extended lower balljoints.

Dry sump has a side benefit. If you seal up the engine with NO breathers and only have a breather in the top of your Patterson tank, you need at least 3-4 scavenge hoses and overdrive the pump to form a vacuum in the lower pan. The more vacuum you can get, the more horsepower you get. This is an engine builders secret learned by the people that made all the Indy Lights V-6 engines. At one point they claimed + 30% more HP.

Hey Taylor, this new project is going to make great content...and at the end....dueling LS Miatas on the skid pad. I'd hate to see you sell off the enclosed trailer. You have such a great layout at Bens (parking and parts bin) and maybe consider holding off moving for 6 months or another year...and keep banking and saving for your own land/house. In the end, I'll always wish you the best...with whatever decision you make.

Just use the iron block bored 5.3 with wet sump to get in running! If it blows up swap to aluminum & dry sump. Unless you can sell it to some sucker for couple grand.

Stay with the T56 cuz you can make them sequential with a adapter you can buy.

Dude stoked for Ben I think this is something he is going to be so happy with and proud to own after it’s done and your the man to have helping get it together correctly. How much did he get it for?

There's a video on you tube the guy has the same Miata white as you guys with the same LS swap set up , is this some kind of kit ? His is all done he's shows a step by step how he built it . Looks like all the same parts except the oil pan he's got a shallow oil pan on it for ground clearance.

You've got trans tunnels in the donor cars, right? Just cut the bits out that you need from one of those. Cut it slightly past center on two cars, use both halves, joined at the top, and you've got yourself a widened trans tunnel made from stock panels.

I like the white miata better and the engine can be placed farther back due to the drive tunnel being cut open also you could use the iron block in the white miata due to being able to place the engine farther back which helps distribute the weight, I think that's what the previous owner had in mind. Also you can have NASCAR bars and it looks so much better.

You really got me thinking about doing an LS Miata out here in California. If the LS swap comes together out here let’s meet up in Texas in tandem 🤘

Put a new oil pump on the motor and you will be fine with that wet sump pan. I have a pan with baffling on my LS E46 and with a fresh oil pan my pressure is around 40-45 at idle on a 5.3 iron block. Make sure you are using the correct o-ring on the pickup, other than those things there shouldn't be an issue!

Ben better have the Miata build before you leave! Need to see the new trailer and people looking at the Miatas!!!!!

Aw man, the moving choice is tough. Whatever you choose to do I hope it’s what’s best for you. We know - and hope - there’s a lot of life going on outside of KZread and we want you to feel the best you can about where you are literally and figuratively. I’m sure you’d want the same for anyone else. Though I’m not sure what my point is here, I guess just don’t feel bad if you have to make an unpopular choice, but don’t do it for the wrong reasons.
