BOTH COMPANIES | Successes in WWF & WCW!
For wrestling fans who were around in the nineties, it was a time of battle. And that was because the two biggest promotions of the era, WWF and WCW were constantly at each other's throats attempting to attain dominance. Obviously then, this led to a lot of great television. But more importantly than that, it created two great places for wrestlers to work, with there being a few who actually succeeded in both. But, just who are the best examples of wrestlers who achieved greatness in both WWF and WCW? Well, that’s exactly what were going to be looking at today.

I kind of disagree that Hogan was responsible for WCW taking the lead in the Monday Night Wars. Hogan had nothing to do with the build-up with the Outsiders/NWO before the heel turn reveal at Bash at the Beach. Yes, Hogan turning heel was a big moment for the WCW that did help propel them but Hall/Nash I believe were more responsible for the direction that WCW took during that period. Previous to Hall/Nash coming in Hogan was helping run WCW into the ground by having them re-hash old opponents over and over and over again.

Dustin Rhodes maybe? Forget about his run near the end of WCW, his run in WCW before he left for WWF was very successful. He was 2x US Champ (when it was probably the 3rd most important title in the World), I think 3 time Tag Champ and a 6 Man Tag Champ. He was seen as one of the future stars of the company when morons (like Jim Herd) weren't in charge. He probably would have been multiple time WCW World Champ had he stayed. In WWF he was one of the biggest mid card stars as Goldust during his first run and his second and third runs in WWE were as if not more successful. He's a 3 time IC Champ, 3 time Tag Champ and 9 time Hardcore champ (holding it a few times during its early times when it actually meant something). While he never held the World Title in either company (again I think he would have in WCW if he never left), I would put him up there with Sid, Rude and the Road Warriors in terms of success between both companies.

Essentially, the original NWA title became the WCW title, and WWE owns the history of the WCW. So, the WWE recognizes WCW/NWA lineages, but not the TNA or Smashing Pumpkins versions of the NWA.

How did you not include Jericho? 4 time cruiser weight champion and 1 time TV champion in WCW, and then held pretty much every title in WWE. And if you are going to include Sid, Big Show, Rick Rude, why not Mick Foley with all his titles in WWE and tag team gold in WCW? Pretty big omissions considering who did make your list.

What is interesting is that half of these legends, at least in earlier points in their careers, were saddled with horrible gimmicks. Hall, Nash, and Sid especially.
