Yes, I just had to try another. Kind of like Lays potato chips. You can't play just ONE. I don't get the solos perfect but then I really just learned them b4 i did the vid. Not too bad. Pretty decent Boston guitar sound.

Basically, when you're 18 and listening to this magical song or that one and cruising in a car you're just enjoying it all as one big thing. Seems it's hard to ever recapture that kind of feeling.

In my opinion, Boston's debut album is simply the greatest album in rock and roll history. Abbey Road, Dark Side of the Moon, Are You Experienced, Led Zeppelin II or IV, Hotel California, Rumours, etc. all have their place and distinction, but Boston was unlike any other. Never before had an entire album been recorded and produced by a single person (with very few exceptions, vocals being the most obvious) in his home studio who wrote the lyrics and music, played all the instruments, invented and built the electronics needed to produce a particular sound in his head, and recorded/produced the entire album himself. Even to this day, this "one man's brainchild and masterpiece" is unparalleled in my opinion because of Scholz's knowledge and expertise in electrical engineering. Scholz literally had to invent and manufacture certain proprietary devices in order to get a specific sound he was looking for that the music world had never heard before.
As I've grown old, I have realized the only possession worth having is peace of mind. That's what this song is about.

I tried! hehe All those green bucks playing a million miles an hour when they miss the coolness of a good groove!
i am tellin ya , ya made my night , im gonna listen to every damn thing you play on
yeah, I'm a child of the 70s. that was my 9 year old to 19 year old era. I really wasn't catching the late 60s music so my fav stuff is really 70s and 80s. that's about it. 90s... grunge ... 2000 didn't care. hahahha thank ya
Play it again play it again! Never get tired of this.

yep. It is magical when you don't really know the inner workings. You just enjoy the totality of it. It's hard for me to enjoy stuff like movies and books today because i'm always trying to decode the stuff. Who is the real villain? Ohhh there's a nice foreshadowing. heheh
Excellent job. And you seem like a cool cat, too.

yeah, knees are not made to kneel. which also supports the idea that we came from animals that were walking on 4 feet . Weird how our joints are pretty much the same except just in lower or higher places.
I have to agree, the 70's is about where I really got into music. Stuff like Cream, Blacksabeth, Nazareth, April Wine, ZZ Top. Hell, my first ZZ Top album was Tejas, friends all called me nuts for buying it because they never heard of them yet. Love those tune. 8 track era. I had 400 watts of stereo in my 67 polaris 500, had a 383 six pack...good old days. Cheers
thank ye. Well, I was fiddling inside guitar rig 5 and just really trying to get a quick Brian May tone using the AC 30 amps but it wasn't really sounding like it to me and then I just started fiddling and then I guess I thought about trying for a Boston sound. I was able to get pretty close using some EQ. It's a little noisy but sounds decent along with the song. Yeah, I try to get a tone that's at least close to the record.
Bearded legend: ''I dont even know the solos so dont expect me to nail them" Also bearded legend: nails the solos. Take a bow.

yeah, I did okay but my goal wasn't to nail these early Boston tunes. My goal was to do a decent job and not blow too many notes! There's mistakes in there that didn't need to be but I didn't really care at the time Later tunes I took a little more time to figure out what I wanted to do. I think my cover of The Journey/It's Easy is really good. thx!!!
Another jaw dropping performance by TruthSurge
You always say you just threw this together or haven't practiced much, but it always sounds so tight. I think your humility is misplaced man. Own it!
The greatest of music played by the coolest of 60 year olds -- if you are my age. Rock on brother.
Breath of fresh air! Awesome!
I Love This Song. Listening to this song reminds me of my youth. You are always playing perfectly. 🎸 Thank you for your wonderful performance. From Japan. 🇯🇵
Love watching you jam..🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
You're killing it, man. Beautiful.
All internet music lacks dynamic range but it's still cool, I listen to my old albums and dream of younger days...
My favorite Boston song from my favorite album. Enjoyed listening. Thanks for posting.
Wow! This is incredible guitar playing!! Mastered!
The first song I learned on guitar as a kid back in 77/78 you nailed it. I couldn’t play the solos until a few years later. Thank you 🙏 so much for posting.
You sounded like you were in the band Truth, had to watch this one too!

one of my favourite boston songs
Man he really makes you feel his passion when playing
No kidding that its hard to recapture those moments. Music does help to stir up some of that forgotten emotion but the old days are history, cherish the good memories. Listening to Seger's Turn the page as I type. Then we listen to some old driving songs like Golden Earing Radar love or BTO's 4 wheel drive, go a few speeding tickets because of them.
Great artist. Great singer !
Right on dude & as a guitarist, all I can say is...just by playing along with such songs, diving in & feeling the spirit, the groove... catapults me back into another time & that my friend is always worth doing it🤙🏾✌🏾🤘🏾
One of my absolute favorite songs , great job .
This is just one of those songs that feels great to listen to in the summer. Goin' on a cruise down the highway, windows down, summer breeze, no traffic... ahh. Feels good! Can't wait. Oh, and your playing is excellent, well done!
Dude your guitar sounds badass. Love the tone
Off of the greatest debut albums. Ever. Great job !!
Desire Walks On was a great album too, The Love Mongers rocked pretty good as well. I love Ann's voice, Dreamboat Annie was a great album back to front, I thought I was the Magic Man way back then... wife say's i still am so why argue the point...
I know that this was upload 9 years ago but the sounds are as sweet today as they were back then! Super, super job!
It looks and sounds like you nailed it. Great job. Thanks for sharing.✌️
You made my day brother! The harmonies were off the charts!
thanks, mon. I keep wishing I can get my fingers 100% but the index finger is still not quite there so I really play cautiously so as not to injure it more. Lots of this stuff (believe it or not) I'm playing with the FINGERNAILS of the fretting hand. Especially bends. I just get the nail involved so it's not so much pressure on the tip. gotta do what I gotta do!
I often marvel at how there are always some "dislikes" of videos. What is not to like here? Seriously? What is not to like? Great job again on another Boston song. That harmony part of the main solo was spot on and gave me goose bumps.
I am a drummer that has played all the great songs for more than 40 years. Except for a couple of little 'your special and good embellishments', and you played all the leads yourself, and there was one tiny difference in one lick that was not dissonant and still no one else would notice but me, your playing was incredibly AWESOME!!! Thanks for the great play along performance to an all time great song!!! I would love to perform this song with you in some band somewhere. Peace.

Just fantastic stuff, once again!
YOU DID A VERY GOOD JOB. THIS SONG IS SOMETHING BEYOND IMAGINATION. "ALL I WANT IS HAVE MY PEACE OF MIND"!!!!

Boston was way ahead of there time! Every song they played if it just came out today would be a hit
Best reproduction I've ever heard! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Van Halen 2 was happening when I was in 12th grade I think. 1980 or so. 80 to 81. I was playing along with all those things after school and nobody cared. Hey, look ma, note for note! who cares? oh well. Me and god knows. :) Ah, those were the good times.... kind of.
Excellent 🎶🎵🎶!!!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
1976. I remember with I first heard Boston like it was yesterday. Still one of my all time favorite band.
Dude you ROCK! I also agree with Herb's comment below - Peace of Mind is the "pearl of great price" - more valuable than anything else in the world

thanks! My guitar is a hair out of tune on this one but... that's life. hehe I used to love that dang nasty Boston tone. I was enamored with trying to emulate it way back in like 1977. I got a Les Paul clone and Lab Series amp and boy... I was set up.
A chunk of wood and some strings... TS grabs it and it sings!
