Also, SC 6 use blur effect for backgrounds, making them less enjoyable. SC3 has no such issue. You can still completely enjoy the gorgeous background in game without any blur

For those of you who wonder why the unknown soul was a blank character it's because in many old stories, a gassan was the soul of a violent and bloodthirsty person who's anger was so great that their soul possessed a weapon that would kill anyone it encountered.

Interestingly those wings are tied to his sword. If you hack to give someone else Night Terror’s moveset they get the wings as well.

The explanation on how to get to Night Terror is extremely muddled as it is. Even Max didn't know if getting beaten by Zasalamel would let him fight Night Terror

I don't remember if there were any win conditions, but you had to follow a certain path, choosing the right prompts, without losing to get to Night Terror. The 2nd Zasalamel fight is safe to lose, and this path also helps unlock Olcadan

You have to follow a specific path in Tales of Souls. The path changes depending on what character you are playing as. You can't lose any fight, including any extra stages you may end up on, up until the final one before Night Terror, which you can lose on and still face him. Searched around and tested. These criterias I can personaly confirm, as well as having other sources confirm them. I wish I could post the path for every character but I don't think I can fit it all in this comment. However, they are online, like on the wiki, and all of them involves a lot of the second option.

“This fool has mouths for hands!” This made me laugh, because it’s true. God this game was crazy and an example of how fighting games used to be. If you couldn’t beat Night Terror, you had to walk the whole entire path again, so giving up was NOT an option. You either overcame the fiend or give up on the game entirely, because the proverbial walk back was too ridiculous to consider. Really made you feel like losing would bring about the end of everything. Miss this game so much.

@@DatBoi-mo9vc Nightmare really has no reason to fight himself though. He is Soul Edge incarnate at this point. He has no host. Even his voiceline upon encountering Night Terror is just a remark at how strong he's gotten and he says nothing special when he wins.

6:30 and here folks we have the endangered Max, his calls are that of a symbol of either finding a mate or fighting in a battle, this is one of his many battle cries.

I'm starting to relive scarred memories of fighting this boss especially the unfair unblockable laser attacks, and his unfair immunity to ring-outs due to his wings.

You actually can wish gameshark and the other thing like gameshark. btw, start with flying up and lasers and it ends almost any fight instantly. Also, you can use it as a discipline for Chronicles of the Sword. Even gives your custom character the wings.

Such a memorable part of this game. I would love to see Night Terror or some new secret, ridiculous boss monster appear in SCVI DLC

I love those endgame bosses like Night Terror that you can’t even be mad cuz of just how ridiculously hard it is, like it’s designed to make you feel like you don’t have a chance, making your win sooo much more satisfying

I've had times (mostly in the last 5 missions of Cheonicles) where the AI just sits there and waits for you to make a move, then imediately guard points it even if it's the fastest move in your kit like Nightnare's forward K

6:01 - 6:07 I'm pretty sure that's what all the characters in the game are thinking when they get hit with those ridiculous sized weapons. And that was my personal favorite part in this video, to be honest.

*YES FINALLY, this was fun on the Live Stream, oh yeah I found a perfect way to beat him with Abyss in Soul Arena on Hard Mode and Soul Calibur 6 tomorrow BOIS!!!* Also I LOVE using cheats to curbstomp everyone with Night Terror, ESPECIALLY that shitty Amy Mission.

With Abyss, Night Terror has a hard time with range attacks and stay on the edge of the ring so he can't side step them, though it took me quite a few retrys.

Nice. If only there was a secret boss in Soulcalibur V's Legendary Souls mode. I think that could have been a good boss rage. Either way, getting to and fighting Night Terror is just, I don't know, gross, but that's how fighting games roll. Congrats on the win. Edit: I hope that Soulcalibur VI has a challenging Arcade Mode boss. I've seen the offline only character, and it is funny that said character fights like a boss variation of an existing character, just like Night Terror did.

I remember being so happy as a kid when I ringed out Night Terror for the first time. I thought that I finally deleted him, only to have my dreams crushed once he flew back on the stage. I still haven't defeated him.

The simple fact that Night Terror has lasers makes him the most op character in this series. Range is almost as important in SC as speed is.

Night Terror deserves an even HIGHER difficulty rating than those 6/10 or even 7/10. I think he deserves a 8/10 and a 9/10 at least.

I've been waiting for this episode since I first encountered the Boss Rage series.

Exactly the same as Jinpachi from Tekken-you simply can't turtle up, too many unblockables and stuns. You have to start with a strong offense and follow it up with every opportunity. Namco developers have no idea how to design or program a balanced boss battle.

The live stream was the first time I was hyped for _anything_ in such a long time… such a rush of nostalgia and adrenaline… …well, until it got to around the 2am mark; then I just wanted to sleep. XÞ

I was there and let me tell yall. I was prepared for an all nighter.(I'm on the east coast. It was already midnight) but then I forgot Max is a GOD. and he cleared it so fast lmao. It was so fun to watch!!
