@manolios Yes, in fact I wrote "alliances and enmities" but I mean for its intricated jigsaw, also from abroad: France, for example, supported Serbia for the old friendship with Russia (when they went against Germany before 2th World War). Germany didn't: in 90s Berlin endorsed at Croatia and Slovenia. And in the inner, it's easy to find two alliances against another actor and vice-versa. It is a very difficult scenario to rebuild. Finally, I mean also for the Bosnia's population: a town is composed by Serbian majority, the next by muslim's, the other one by Croatian (considering the areas at the regional boarder between Erzegovina and Republika Srbska).

Srecko (who is a Croat btw) was working on a piece about explosions around Grbavica. Locals thought he was Muslim and started beating him. Italian members of the UNPROFOR showed up and handed him over to the local police even though there were other journalist there protesting. He was exchanged for two other Serbs that were arrested in Sarajevo few hours later. Basically they arrested him so that he can be used as a bargaining chip for exchange, Italians fucked up big time here. This happened in March 1996.

Bosnian Muslims before they decided to convert to Islam were Patarens/Bogumils - and had a church of their own that was independent from both Vatican and Byzantine empire and was equally hated by both. Serbians were Catholics and the Pope Honorius III created Serbia in 1217 when he crowned Serbian king Stephan First-crowned. Later Serbs converted to Orthodox Christianity under the pressure of Byzantine empire. They have nothing in common with Bosnian Muslims. They don't share language, letter, not even a DNA.

The Bosnian church was proclaimed to be "heretic" by both Byzantine and Vatican Christianity and that is one of the reasons why Serbians/Croatians always wanted to eradicate Bosnian people (letters from Vukan Nemanjic to Pope Honorius III explain how the "battle" against the "heretics"/Bosnians - was not going as planned and he expected additional troops from Vatican in order to battle "heretics"). This of course is coming from a period od 1200-1300 ad when Serbians were Catholics worshiping Vatican. The hate Bosnian people felt equally from the Byzantine empire and Vatican Christianity only helped them more easily choose Islam. 2. Random DNA testes were performed in 2008-2009 year and over 10 000 individuals blood were randomly tested in Bosnia. Results were staggering - the majority of Bosnians had Celtic and Latin DNA background, while Germanic and Slav were at the very low bottom. Compared to Serbia where random DNA testing were conducted in 2005-2006 where most dominant DNA was Turkish DNA with haplo groups of A and A1. This didn't came as surprise at all due to the fact that Serbians were subjected to first wedding night (ad noctis primus) by Turkish invaders. Even the Serbian Princess Olivera daughter of Lazar married Turkish Sultan Bayezid in 1390. Most Serbians have Turkish DNA. It's a fact well proven.
