BOSCH 100' CROSS LINE LASER LEVEL GLL100 GX & BLUEGRANITE TURBO CARBIDE DRILL BITS

This week's episode of Tool Review Tuesday features 2 different tools by Bosch. The first one is the Bosch 100' Cross-Line Self Leveling Laser Level with Visimax Green Beam, model #GLL100GX. The second one is a Bosch BlueGranite Turbo Carbide Hammer Drill 5pc Set, which takes place at 10:12 in the video. I demonstrate several ways in which the laser level has come in handy for me as well as installing a flip-up bathroom grab bar, installed in a concrete block wall. The carbide drill bits work well as I install the anchor sleeves after using a hammer drill.

Question of the day: What project would you use a cross line laser level for most often? When you drill into a block wall, what type of wall anchor works best, what brand/style?

I bought a bosch gll 250 cg 12v green beam laser, it's a light brighter than the red one, I'm an electrician, so use it for setting out sockets, switches, and downlights. It's handy having the 12v battery to run it. Also have the 80 mtr bosch laser measure, the rechargeable lithium iron battery is good for 25000 measurements. about 5 years ago I changed all my tools to Bosch, not one has ever let me down, the 36v sds is a real beast that I couldn't do without.

Sure did make it alot easier than a 6" straight Ibeam. the only thing is to know the error range, 3/16" maximum at their maximum sight distances. Also the quality of the beam thickness which got thicker on the dewalt around 15'.

Never look at the lazer light head on. You will damage your eyes. Not without the lazer safty glasses on that protect from the rays. Outside demo was durring very late afternoon low sunlight, its not as bright durring noon time. These are best used indoors or overcast days bright sunlight tends to bleach out the lazer light. Indoors grate for framing, laying hardwood floors, hanging pictures, Installing tvs on a wall cabnits in a kitchen, laying tiles on floors or walls, installing chair rails crown anything you need a straight leval line on. Things laid in perfect lines or on the same plain or in a pattern look better. Unless its totally at random art work. There are so many uses for these its a no brainer buying a decent kit that meets what you might need it for. This brad might cost more but its certainly worth the extra money. Buy the best you can afford. I bought a cheep one years ago, and honestly I'm thinking about replacing it with one of these. Its 10 times better then just a straight line unit. These are indispensable for qulity construction results. Your 2x4 might not be stright but you can make the wall stright with this enough you cant see its crowned. You also be able to see all the crowns are the same direction this is important for a good looking wall.

@@MarkThomasBuilder this is no joke, I walked into a home just built it was the show house in an upper bracket neighborhood on a golf course. We went to look at the flooring. The house was set up with a main floor bedroom all the rest of the bedrooms were in the basement. Up the right side you had storage and utility rooms The left side of the hallway was bedrooms. Now we're talking a 1/2 to 3/4 a million dollar home in a city with a medium priced home at 150k The right hand walls base or bottom plate was 1 14' 2x4 this 2x4 looked like it must have had a 4" bow in it. It was that crooked they used it, worse the finished the wall like that. This was pros ? Seriously my house was built in the 90s it had walls painted you cant see those mistakes, jut try and hang wall paper You'll see just how shitty the work was done. Seriously on a floor base beam you can strighten a crooked board these guys just drive nails where it laid. Absolutely no pride in the work, just all speed get it built and let some sucker buy it.

If you're looking for a small, compact size cross line laser, the Bosch works well. The Milwaukee offers additional features such as plumb points and it comes on an integrated metal bracket with micro adjust. It also runs off a rechargeable USB Redlithium Battery or the M12 battery.

I would use this green cross line first. It's quick and easy to set up. I often straighten pictures or use it for a plumb line. I even used it as a level to install a new toilet paper bracket. If I wanted to use it outside for some elevation measurements, it could be done at dusk.

They both work well. If you're looking to get into a simple cross line laser, Bosch is the most economical. Milwaukee has plumb points on most of their lasers, which can come in handy for certain projects. Bosch offers lasers in red and green. Milwaukee is only green which is much brighter. Milwaukee also offers a outdoor laser detector, but I'm not sure if it works with Bosch. I'll have to try it today.

When you get up close to the line, it looks thinner, making it easy to see the center of the line. I'm not sure if the green is thicker than red. I do know that green is brighter and considered an upgrade.
