Seems like a very underrated arc. Sumire’s story literally carries on the same theme of ostracism and hatred from the previous Naruto series, even though Boruto is more about losing loved ones

It's a pity Naruto and Hinata couldn't see what happened here. Boruto was amazing. He showed empathy, compassion, patience, loyalty. They'd be so proud of him.

It's the curse of a gradual change. Because he changes a bit by bit as the series continues you don't really notice it all that much. When a time skip happens like OG to Shippuden it becomes easy to compare but if your watching weekly you barely even notice the small changes between the arcs.

It is a shame how they did Sumire's character dirty. She seems much more confident in herself in this arc. Pretty rare for a Naruto/Boruto Character

Clues of the Jougan powers are hidden in plain sight throughout the episode. Boruto instantly teleported/flickered in between Mitsuki and Sumire. Boruto is skilled but he can't move that fast during this stage he was still at the academy before the karma activated. This was clearly a Jougan ability. After defeating Nue and convincing Sumire to stop her vengeance against the leaf Boruto used a clairvoyance ability he was able to see Shikadai and the gang looking for him while in another dimension!

I think this is the only arc in the entire anime to have shown the Jougan a lot compared to now. I'm still waiting for Boruto to be able to use the Jougan to the fullest and go against Kawaki.

This arc was basically the peak way to show jougan's powers The jougan's most basic power is to enhance boruto's speed, reflexes, agility and reaction time, in this scene where he stops mitsuki and sumire he was still an academy student and without karma, his speed was instantaneously increased thats how he stopped both of them quickly, plus then a portal to a different dimension is opponed basically which is opened by nue's dimensional rift ability and boruto's jougan starts showing different effects as it a danger was approaching meaning it simply the detected the opening barrier, and in the fight against nue in his dimension boruto uses jougan to see the chakra pathway and points of nue and then there he puts on solid attacks on his vital points, and then to exit that dimension boruto used his jougan to see through the dimensional barrier into the real word and he could hear his friends calling him from there and then boruto exits that dimension (now one thing is sure that boruto can see through dimensional barriers but i think his passing through that dimensional barrier was also jougan's power)

Jogan also known as pure eye gives the user anything they wish, he wanted to stop sumire and mituski so jogan gave him the speed to do it etc

Did you see how Boruto moved in between sumire and mitsuki in a flash? There's something going on here!

Boruto was like minato's speed and her jougan like chidori

5:16 holy crap you don't notice it when you first watch the anime but Boruto literally either body flickers or he literally teleports inbetween the two, and seeing as what happens next it doesn't seem far fetched to say it may be a Jougan ability..

@@bosacmonyt if you watch slowly you can see how their attacks are way closer before Boruto blocks them, i'd say its a sort of timeskip / rewind ability, its kind of weird that he just appears and has zero momentum, unlike the other two

You have to be blind to miss the omnipresence the jougan displays….. it’s worse than Kawaki eye. If Kawaki opens the door to the Daikokuten dimension then Boruto may find it…..

No one sees that the Jougan has clairvoyance? Boruto can find anyone anywhere at anytime in any dimension if you open the door basically.

Desire for strength, speed (stopped Sumire and Mitsuki clash lightning speed) Desire to know where his friends are( shows him Sarada and nem on THE OTHER side of the dimension….. sees space time ninjutsu before it appears

It boosted his stats. Look how quickly he moves between them and how he effortlessly stops them vs later on when he is slower and gets stabbed with the eye of. You see the same thing happen vs Momoshiki and Urashiki. Boruto did not open the portal for Nue, traveling through dimensions is one of Nues abilities and jobs as a summon, Boruto just gave Sumire enough Chakra with the eye so Nue can get completed, the massive energy drain to travel between the dimensions is also why Nue is smaller in the fight compared to how he was outside.

Jougan is an Otsutsuki doujutsu, just like Byakugan and Tenseigan, allowing him to see into another dimension. Whether it can open a portal (like Rinnegan can), the portal was opened by Nue (which is based on space-time ninjutsu) or it's another inherited ability of Boruto from his Otsutsuki ancestors is not known.
