I think it would've been better if Konohamaru conducted the Bell-Test only with his 3-Genin: Sarada, Boruto & Mitsuki. This could've allowed us to see how powerful is Konohamaru as a Shinobi.

Its not really to counter him, but to counter the element. That element can run through his body and if he's not careful can do damage to him. So he's using a stronger lighting to essentially absorb the weaker one

The Purple Lightning became Kakashi's main Jutsu which he can fully control, from giving children a little shock to scare them to making a jutsu more powerful than even Kirin, what he did was like Gaara defending himself from a shuriken with his sand

@@upendrasharma228 I don't remember exactly which Novel it was in, but he uses it in Ohnoki's presence, and he says that this was the strongest Lightning Jutsu he's ever seen in his life, and Ohnoki lived 100 years And the Jutsu itself is similar to Kirin, it does the cloud thing and then a huge purple Lightning falls from the sky destroying everything below, making a huge crater
