I miss the original PS3 startup sound and that jingle (the one you pointed out) when you boot up a Game, have no idea why Sony changed it but it was an awful mistake they made.

This just unlocked memories I forgot I had. I remember the PLAYSTATION 3 spiderman splash every time I opened Far Cry 2/Fallout 3/Uncharted, etc.

there's still a way to get it on any PS3 system, though you do need a CFW PS3so you can access the filesystem

You can disable the sparkles in the newer firmwares

I have fond memories with this intro sound, back when I was 6 or 7 between 2007 & 2008.

My heart dropped when you went into System Update and clicked Ok... I love Firmware Versions under 3.00, I downgraded a 80gb CechL to 2.80 because I got bored one day and wanted to Old Boot and Gameboot, I have multiple Jailbroken Consoles too, I should make a Video on them really. Shame you got scammed for it, That's what scares me out of selling through eBay. I have an Instagram with my Consoles and that which is the same name as my KZread :)

@@Rollsjr Yeah but you have to Jailbreak/HEN it first, It's been a while since I did it but prepare to just through alot of hoops to get it downgraded. If you have anything on it you want to save, Make sure you back everything up to a USB or something before doing anything.

I love and miss how the old game boot screen displays a playstation 3 script in case you forget you're playing a playstation 3 😅

I liked that sound at the beginning more than the current one, when you hear it for the first time it sounds like you are going to have the best experience playing

I know right!! I mean ps4 didn't have backwards compatibility or any other features that ps3 had but at least it had some good exclusives. Ps5 doesn't even had what ps4 features had and made it 10 times worse!! This knockoff of ps4 that they call it ps5 is ridiculous and a crime!!! For real ps3 is the best console ever because it has so many amazing stuff even today that surpass ps4 and ps5 (ps4 pro 2.0 with a new controller and worse menu ).It had a big amazing library of games that we still play today like gta,uncharted etc .

They removed the backwards compatibility because since Sony had to cram an entire PS2 inside the older PS3 models (which is why they are heavy), They had such a high cost (~$899), so Sony got rid of the backwards compatibility to cut costs.

The TV was even in overscan mode for that perfect cable TV era feel

I miss the system and game start up sounds I really wish they would have left it alone when they changed everything on the PS3

I bought the CECHK01 ps3 in 2008, along with a sony bravia that came with a home theater speaker system and bd player after i bought the ps3. Running a sony console on a sony tv at the same generation feels so nostalgic (at least for me)

the ps3 had a way simpler and organized menu xmb than the ps4 and ps5. There is no need to a upper section for friends and trophies and more in ps4 and ps5

solo juegas ps3 porque eres pobre y no te alcanza si quiera para una ps4 no mentira yo aun sigo jugando los juegos de ps3 y ahi incluso algunos que me gustaas en ps3 que en ps4 como motorstorm pacific rift y tambien resistance 2 que lamentablemente cerraron sus servidores, tuve los mejores años de mi vida jugando ps3 alrededor del 2009 al 2011

@@bengomez4931 yo ahora ultimo estaba jugando bioshock 1 y fallout 3 lastima que juegos asi no se vean en ps4, tambien me gustaba mucho jugar al multijugador de uncharted 2 con amigos, tuve suerte de volver a adquirir una ps3 1 mes antes de que cerraran los sevidores de ps3, tuve una ps3 fat en 2008 y volvi a tener una ps3 slim el 2019

а кстати в россии модель на 60гб чуточку лучше там у нее эмулятор пс2 а не аппаратный чип эмулятор несколько эффективнее за исключением того что игр немного меньше)

I didn't know tony Hawks pro skater 3 is backwards compatible I tried twisted Metal Black and Shadow of the Colossus and my PS3 said they are unsupported discs meaning they're not backwards compatible I tried klonoa door to phantomile for PS1 and it was backwards compatible

You probably have a system that doesn't have PS2 compatibility. The first three versions of the PS3 have it, like the one in this video

This isn't the original firmware. The RSS / PlayStation news feed, Trophies, and also half of those system settings options, weren't in the launch "1.02" firmware.

Its because your ps3 is running on newer versions thats over I think 3.00. My ps3 slim is on 4.86.
