We only have two seasons in Florida, hot and hotter.

Disbursed camping gives me such a great sense of freedom. That’s all I wish to do. Consider covering or wrapping your trailer’s seven pin connector to keep dirt and water out when unhooked. Also think about padlocking your safety chains. Anything you can do to slow a thief down ups the possibility of him/her moving to the next trailer and leaving your’s alone.

We live about an hour from Crater Lake National Park. It’s one of our favorite places to share with visitors, but it can be very cold and snowy a lot of the year. The scenery from the rim of the lake is amazing.

There are worse things than hanging out in the camper in bad weather. Sure enjoy experiencing all your firsts with you. Crater lake is beautiful!

Your videos are very well edited, and you’re great on camera. Loving the Airstream, and thoroughly enjoying your vids.

I’m also new to trailer towing but there are three things I’ve learned about backing up. 1. If your uncomfortable doing something don’t. 2. There is no dishonor in pulling forward and trying again. 3. Again no dishonor in getting out and walking around to see just what and where you are going. Hope you get better soon.

Sarah that was a wonderful video. It was the snow that made the park tough; looked like a boondocking win. We have been AStreaming since 2005 and boondocked since our first night and hardly looked back. We’ve been imprudent sometimes ($$) but have memories of great campsites in CA to AZ to NM to TN. We have never felt safer than when we are boondocking AWAY from people. Animals will leave you alone. In my book BD is a success if I found a site, enjoyed the quiet and didn’t run into anybody else! Keep the videos coming!

Appreciate the information regarding dispersed camping! It's been awhile but I remember Crater Lake being beautiful!

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah! I must say that your "story", is somewhat parallel to mine, and truly inspiring. Even though I have been on the road with my fifth-wheel for almost a year, I am still a Newbie at dispersed camping. In fact, just last week I went to Nomad's View at the Badlands National Grasslands with the intention of spending two weeks atop the cliff. I retreated to the comfort of Ellsworth AFB Campground after just 24 hours due to temps over 100 degrees. As a Viet Nam era Vet with a bad case of PTSD, I also travel alone (pretty much out of necessity), and it is not easy. Perhaps one day soon, I could justify a traveling companion (a dog,horse, turtle... I dunno). But for now, watching videos such as yours will help me with my antics. I plan on leaving for a 3-week trip through Wyoming in about a week. No campgrounds, just the wilderness, and higher elevations for the cooler weather! Safe travels, look forward to seeing more from you and the pup.

Oh ..your a tough gal. Hang in there. Love your setup, Jeep pulling a 22' Airstream. Great combo. Your a radiologist. HI Sarah, Thank you for your videos as I am sure it is time consuming to film, review & edit them. I do appreciate the narration, however, maybe once in awhile throw in some short clips of your experiences. Such as the thunderstorm you and Rue went through. That could be something your audience can relate to, just a suggestion. Be safe and looking forward to more of your adventures.

Hi Sarah enjoyed your video and I agree there’s no way I would of taken my RV up the hill. I just dry camped at Zion National Park for 4 days and was impressed that I was able to do this and maintain my water intake and outtake and not fill up my gray and black tank. I know for sure I can dry camp for a minimum of 5 days before I’ll need to dump my tanks. I just started RV’ing in July 2022 however I’ve had my RV since Jan 2022. So now I’m Rv’ing for 3 months and will return home to California in September or possibly October. I’m enjoying this lifestyle love waking up every few days to a different scenery. Pinstripes are part of the off road experience, but with older trucks it doesn't bother me like it would with a new vehicle. I think it was smart to be cautious and keep the trailer at the bottom rather than try to get it to the top even though the view was nice. My trailer doesn't have the clearance for rougher roads either. I don't know if you have any saw or axe just in case a tree blew down across a road while you were boondocking, but I think it's a good idea to have something. Welcome to Washington! Luckily our summer arrived on time right after July 4th. We get 2-3 months of warm sunshine, but still tell tourists it's rainy and gray and cold.

Loved this video! First time I’ve stumbled upon your channel and the looks from your pup in the back seat within the first few minutes made me laugh out loud! Keep doin what you’re doin and I’ll stay tuned!

In addition to the hitch lock I also install a real heavy bike type, motorcycle type curly cable (real thick) through the tire rim holes up through any hole in the trailer frame and secure the cable with the best paddle available. This practice provides a second defense against theft. Just DON’T forget the cable lock when you prepare to tow.

The fact is that sunrise and sunset are the very best times to see Crater Lake as 98% of all people visit mid day. I know where you parked, thats a good one!

Thanks for the video. We were at Joseph Stewart state park in mid June and drove up to Crater Lake for the day. Not as much snow left when we were there. It is so beautiful there.

Was up there in June also it was breathtaking, was cloudy at the ranger station, cleared up at the visitor center. Great vid, love the dog.

Boondocking in Central and Eastern Oregon is the only way to go. We boondock year around in Eastern and Central Oregon. Last time at Diamond Lake ( Thielsen trail head) we had 15 inches of snow the first night. Later the next day the snowplow came and cleared the road. Great snowshoeing. In all of my years boondocking I have never had an issue with security in Eastern and Central Oregon. BLM roads can be rough and roads in the national forest can be overgrown. One of great things is some of the best night sky's in the US can be found here.

We love Crater Lake! Even though you encountered snow on the ground, your views were amazing! We seem to always end up there when it's too hazy to see clear across :-P

We were at Crater lake 20 years ago seems like yesterday. I saw 12 national parks out west that year and Crater lake was the most beautiful lake by far. I was amazed by the colors and the diamond shimmer on top. Sounds like you got covid the ba5 going around. Everyone that has it has those exact symptoms. Hope you feel better soon. Beautiful, isn't it? I grew up about an hour and a half from there. I can remember when you can go anywhere you wanted to around the lake. They had a lodge that had the best ice cream!

i have camped in the same “place” as you show. but do not take a trailer up that little hill. it is a great spot. just little to no room to turn around. crater lake is a fantastic place. my dad worked there as a young man. full of history and ancient folk lore.

We were going to go to Crater Lake in early July, but yeah, cool and cloudy, and part of the rim still closed. If you want great boondocking in Oregon May through early July try the Ochoco National Forest east of Prineville. Flowers, no crowds, plenty of choices.

Boondocking can be wonderful yet creepy. Your doggy is a great companion. Yes he will try his darnest to protect you from 4 and 2 legged 'creatures' but don't let him get injured. He depends on you to protect him as well. A rabid fox, raccoon and be relentless causing serious injuries and rabies. Make sure you carry all the time you and Rue are outside. All the time. A walk around the lake can be deadly for Rue. Start with a 9 millimeter. If you see BIGGER threats bump it up. Practice practice at the Rindge.

Hi It would help us living over here on the right coast, if you folks on the left coast could be very specific where you are. For example: I would say: "Here we are at Lost River Campground in North Woodstock, N.H." or "We just arrived at Baileys campground in Saco Maine". Now most people in 'your area' know where Crater Lake, is. I do not. There are a lot of Crater Lakes dotted around the US. Even here in the White Mountains NH. Thanks. Boondocking is a scary thing. Be really careful with your gorgeous doggy. Protect him from the beasts out there. Never leave him alone and I hope you are always carrying to keep him safe from rabid wildlife. We never go into the woods without our 'bear spray'.

Boon docking by yourself is something to be very proud of! Hope you don't have the dreaded C! You're making good decisions for yourself. Trust your instincts!

It’s not such a bad thing “sounding like a man” 😁 but I can relate… respiratory infections will make one feel and sound miserable! Eventually you’ll get lazy and stop poking your head out the window and begin relying more on the mirrors. Getting out of the tow vehicle to clear your path is a good idea, always. I’ve learned after many years of RV travel to accept the spot ya land on, save the time searching for another, and drive out to spend time where it is you thought was better.

Great video! I planning to become a FT RVer as soon as my lease is up. I've been going back and forth between a TT (Airstream Bambi) and a class C. I wanted to ask you a question as a solo female RVer. Do you feel safe in a TT? Any regrets not getting a RV? I prefer a TT but just curious about safety. Also, how much does your TT with everything inside weigh? (roughly). What Jeep do you have? Make/model/Engine How does it feel when you're towing your TT? I have a Jeep but plan to upgrade to a Grand Cherokee because those have heavier tow capacity. I am so inspired by you solo female RVers!

That's a bummer you visited Crater Lake and missed filming the Old Man Of The Lake--- a 450 year old 30 foot long Hemlock tree stump floating vertically with about 3 feet showing above water. The wind blows it around the lake every day. Sadge.

Drop by in early to mid Sept, mostly empty with trails and roads fully open. Some snow in shady area's of the crater rim.

I lived down in Medford for years so spent a lot of time up there. Being isolated takes some getting used to and sounds like you understand that and have a good attitude about it. My wife and I dry camp a lot and enjoy the isolation. Enjoying your wonderful videos. You obviously put a lot to effort into editing and have a very pleasant presence. You should have more than 16K subs. I’m sure that will increase with time. Enjoy the great Northwest.

Hi! You are a warrior! I am also getting an airstream as a sole female travel NP. I am looking into a towing vehicle and I like Jeep. I am thinking about getting a Caravel 23 pottery barn edition for my rig and wondering the Grand Cherokee has no problem to tow it.

Heyyyy I’m trying to buy the jackery portable power station that you recommended and main reason is for my warming blanket when it’s cold !! I Used the inverter last time just for the blanket which seems kinda crazy used up a lot of propane … How many hours does it keep it warm before station dies?? Trying to see which station to buy before next boondocking in March. Just wanna make sure I can stay warm over night

do you think it would be easier or harder to do vanlife as a travel nurse? I have always wanted to do vanlife and moved back home so I could build out my van but the more I think about travel nursing in a van the more I think having a camper would be a more ideal.
