Sorry about the water temperature. Usually it's a little warmer.

Hahaha! In Michigan, BBQ just means “cooked on the grill,” and sometimes, “tastes smoky!” 🚀🦩

Thanks for watching! It's really funny to watch us boondock. Cindy is "careful" with our battery usage whereas I'm irritatingly obsessive...

Thanks for watching! History is so wonderful - especially the lessor know places. Sure, Gettysburg is very interesting but the importance of Ft. Fisher is not something the casual historian buff might get...

Try visiting emerald isle, Atlantic beach and Ocracoke island. The ferry is amazing. Watch out for the golf carts on the public roads.

There's nothing wrong with briquettes. That's the exactly what the "pit" bbq style is. IF you can find it, "Old Hickory" charcoal, it may be under the nature glo brand, it has Andrew Jackson's pic on the label. It's a very long lasting coal, long enough to do spare ribs. I've been using it for decades. FYI, The Rendezvous in Memphis uses briquettes...

Have you seen the mini egg for grilling, smoking, searing, griddle, and pizza with a stone?

Thanks for watching! We have considered the mini egg. When it comes down to it the egg weighs about 40 lbs. versus about 3 lbs. for my Smokey Joe which has a much smaller footprint size. It's a great product but the weight and size didn't work for us.

Coincidentally, the June/July issue of Cooks Country magazine (by Cook’s Illustrated) has a comparison of lump vs briquettes. They use science to analyze the pros and cons of each. I won’t give you their conclusion for fear of starting a lengthy debate in your comments section. But you might want to check out the article. I think it will appeal to your science mindedness.

Hi Linda! Thanks for watching. You're right - I certainly like the scientific approach. I will be looking up that article as soon as I am done with comments! Let's hear it for Team Briquettes!
