I finished my first book of 2021today! Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys and there’s no doubt that it’s one of my favorite books ever. I couldn’t stop crying as I read those last few chapters loll. I just needed to get that out so anyone who hasn’t read that, I highly recommend

I really love the audiobook for Legendborne (I'm in the middle of it right now) so I hope you enjoy as much as I am! It has just the right balance of character driven + plot driven + action + mysteries to figure out.

Its now lockdown for us in the UK 🇬🇧 so I've got 3 books down already even though those have been audiobooks. I think thats how I'm going to make up most of my read challenge this year

I've also struggled a little with focusing on books, but two books that I really loved and got into were Half a Soul and Ten Thousand Stitches by Olivia Atwater. They're just cute, happy fantasy romances with really strong characters and so easy to fly through. I loved them both so much and they were perfect for getting me into reading again.

Here I am, adding books to my TBR, knowing full damn well I have 200 unread books downstairs.

I'm reading Legendborn at the moment as well!! I am enjoying it but I'm finding that I almost have to force myself to read it cause fantasy is not my strong suit and it's quite long...but I like it! Also, I love the use of some Welsh phrases because I am Welsh, so I feel so smart that I can understand haha :)

This may be totally weird... but I find your voice really calming. Obviously I love your book chats too, but your voice is just lovely to listen to. Yeah, that’s weird isn’t it 😂

I currently have about 25 books on my TBR. Aaaaaaand I just added more. 😂

Highly recommend the audiobook for Lives of Saints! Ben Barnes does half of the stories, including the, uhh... one for his character in the adaptation (I'm trying not to spoil things, ahhh) and Lauren Fortgang reprises her narration role for the other half, and they both did such an amazing job!

Im so sorry to hear the hate comments have been hard for you. Let’s hope that book will help you with that. Everyone we should boost Hailey with some positivity!

I actually wonder with A Pho Love Story, if the intention IS for the common mispronounciation to be used as a play on the word "faux" but I could be totally wrong lol

I just finished reading Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin. And I've started Dash and Lily's Book of Dares.

I read Legendborn on audiobook. And it was really good!!!

I got an ARC of We Are Not Free a while back from my work and it really became one of my favorites. Would love to hear someone else's thoughts on it

I really want some recommendations on Alice's retellings. Do you plan on making a video on fairytales retellings in general? Also, I love rom-com with Chefs and Bakers, food and romance? I'm in. Would you consider doing a video for that? I hope you enjoy all your readings. Thanks for sharing.

I highly recommend listening to the cast album for Alice By Heart! Some of the songs are a bit weird, but a lot of it is really beautiful

Alice By Heart is by the same people who did Spring Awakening. So it's gonna be good. I haven't read it, but I do like the group who wrote it.

Hi Hailey! Bookmas was amazing! I’m doing a reading challenge sort of. There’s a bunch of themes e.g. Book with an LGBTQ protagonist (very happy about that one, i’m bisexual) or a book with flowers on the cover; I think it will help me reach my goodreads goal. Sorry about the lockdown😢 Also I finished On The Come Up on New Year’s Day and it was awesome (don’t ask me to choose if THUG is better than this, I love them both) Also I get you on the December being a crap month for reading, I read one book (Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland)

I love the musical Alice by Heart, but when I read the book I found that the way the story was told didn't transfer to novel that well. The musical is beautiful, but I can imagine the book could be really confusing without having seen it

Hey Hailey, if you want more non-white historical fiction, have you read Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred Taylor? It's about a black family in segregated Mississippi during the Great Depression. There's a whole series about them, but this is the most well know as it won a Newbery medal

Thank you for pronouncing pho correctly. My fiancé had to look it up because he didn’t believe me and now he does the whole shebang on pronunciation. And it’s unfortunately his favorite take out so I hear it semi regularly, oh well 😂😂
