Agreed. Noone needs to explain their financially responsible purchases. If she has the money, she can buy whatever she likes. It is not harming anyone, and it is in fact better for most people that she buys books (money to authors, agents, cover artists, editors, publishers, bookstores) rather than just hoarding money or buying "rich people" things like fancy jewellery where the money goes to far fewer people

This is one of the best book channels on YT.

I'm finally out of a reading slump, so I requested more books from the library...they are slowly taking over my bedroom

yes, I know she is such a sweet and wonderful person!! she deserves all the books and subs that she has! shit, she should have MORE! she is one of the BEST BOOKTUBERS in the world of booktube !!! she is just so damn sweet and nice and beautiful as well!!! It shouldn’t be a problem though. Everyone is way too sensitive. Everyday there are people who don’t have money, so should no one ever do a book haul? If anyone has a problem with it that sounds like their problem

I did an inventory of my physical TBR as well and i got 365 books (a book every day?! LOL!). My goal is to clear it in five years and this was year one. So four years to go! Should be possible ... Mmm maybe.

id love to see a vlog series where you read the rainbow and read all yellow spine books for a week I think it'd be fun!

the absolute slander booktubers get for spending their own money of books is ridiculous. if you have the disposable income to be able to do that, it is no one else’s business. you work hard, you earn money and you treat yourself to books. no issue whatsoever

this made me feel so validated with my crazy unread book collection

I understand you personally felt uncomfortable which is another story but in general I find it absurd that people are rlly getting offended because other people are in a certain financial situation. If you have the means to buy books (aka do your job) that’s not a disrespect on other people, it’s not insensitive. People are just too mad ab everything these days

I'm a new follower and kind of getting back into reading. I find book tube to be helpful but at the same time I feel like the little bit I do read is NOTHING compared to some book tubers... My goal for 2021 is to catch up on series I haven't read yet and I hope that's a good goal to have because there are so many books out there!

I stopped counting after 200 lol haha who else wishes they had all of her shelves with all of those wonderful books?!!! love you girl!

A book that got me out of a reading slump is a book called The Fruit Bowl by Dominic Holland! I read it while in Alaska and I really enjoyed it. The two main characters were named after Holland’s sons: Paddy and more famous Tom Holland.

I think it's amazing you love and buy so many books! I'm also a book lover and now sell them and I love being surrounded in books everyday! I have around 5000 books in my warehouse and it makes me so happy being surrounded by them! Loved your channel this year, keep up the great work Hailey!

You have a plethora of great books! Personally, I read Illusionarium when it came out and adored it!!!! Also, just wrapped up The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue today for a buddy read and it...was....pure GOLD!!!!!! The vivid imagery, the historical events interwoven into this magical concept of the darkness, and the ingenious quotes were amazing! I have never loved a book this much!

Its an unpopular opinion but I find that The song of achilles is better than Circe - both books are by the same author

aaaah you need to read so many of these! I personally recommmend especially Wicked Like a Wildfire (I've been yelling about this one ever since it came out), Starsight, Forest of Souls, and The Beautiful!

I just got the Twisted Tales books completed for my birthday and Christmas. So far I only read Conceal, don't feel and I cannot wait for a readathon! Please let us know when you are doing that!

I need to watch this back in slow mo so I can add all these my good reads! Also those Katherine Longshore books are really fun to read if you like Tudor England. I read Gilt, Brazen, and Tarnish this year and loved them all.

You really need to read Crescent City! It's literally the best book ever. I know people have some problems with Sarah's writing and I can't say that this book is perfect ... but for me it's just the best book ever. It's also the 1st book that made me cry more than 5 times after Allegiant... which I read 5-6 years ago.

You have some really good books on your TBR list. The Looking Glass Wars is such a great series! I read the whole trilogy years ago. My TBR list is around 4 double rowed bookshelves and 800ish ebooks. I keep buying more....I don't think I will ever be able to read them all. T_T There's just so many good books.

90% of these books go directly to my wishlist haha have to watch multiple time to get all the titles

I think it’s really sweet that you are aware of how people may feel based on how sucky 2020 has been. However, you should definitely not feel bad about things you’ve been able to buy especially since it is part of your job.

All the Stars and Teeth was my favourite of 2020 you should read it soon it’s soooo good!

You should definitely pick up Enchanté by Gita Trelease, it’s my favourite book of all time! It’s an amazing historical fiction/fantasy set in a unusual time period for historical reads. Also the history of magic in this book is amazing! PS I love your videos, Bookmas has been the highlight of my days. Thank you for making them!

Her book went on submission to publishers around the time the pandemic hit and quarantine started. She posted a video about it a couple months or so ago about what’s going on with it if you want to watch that.

I have not read any of these except for Song of Achilles. Unfortunately, I had a bad reading experience. The way most of the narratives were written just didn't make me immerse to them.
