So. I just saw Bonnie Raitt live again. I even ran one of the spot lights. I hadn’t listened ti her for a while. I missed her music. I used to listen to her a lot. In particular, I had a cassette tape of this very show. I think got it when I was still in high school, or early college (mid 80s). I listened to it over and over again. I loved it. I played it during my first tattoo (1992). I played it when I was in labor. I lost it a long time ago. I can’t believe I am listening to it now. Wow. I am floating back ti my early 20’s.

I saw Bonnie Raitt at one of the Dr. Pepper concerts at the Wollman Rink. August 12, 1977. Garland Jeffereys opened. Great show. Bonnie played Willin' and introduced it as a Lowell George/Little Feat song and said we all needed to listen to them. I took her advice. She was right.

Little Feat was one of two of the best live performance bands I've ever seen! The other being the Original Allman Brothers band. Lowell's version of the Hank Williams song Lonesome Whistle is one of my favorites. As I said I genuinely miss Lowell George!! 😅

The first real concert I remember and I must say, it's the most memorable concert of my life, nothing has ever surpassed it. June 17, 1978, SDSU Amphitheater. A magical incredible night of my life. Lowell George and Little Feat. I had the T-shirt (baseball style) with the tomato for years and years until it disappeared.

In the early 80's, I had this on cassette tape, given to me from a long gone housemate. This had to be my most cherished audio recording. I wore it out before I ever could have made a digital copy. I have been heartbroken to have lost it. I am unspeakably grateful to have found it here! Thank you, thank you. It's just as I remember- perfection. Bonnie's very best.

Interesting. Back in 87, a cassette with Old And In The Way on one side, and this Bonnie Raiit set on the other, was given to me by an older Deadhead at my 3rd Grateful Dead show. I loved that tape and I'm happy to find this digital keepsafe.

Ultra Sonic studio in Hemstead, NY hosted WLIR fm radio station concerts for years. Was lucky enough to see a lot of them and work some of them. Years later the building was bought/ given to Nassau County for a museum. In the basement were boxes of old tapes of shows and the original recording booth was still there. No console or electronics but all the original wiring. Very cool place back in the day.

I bought a related bootleg CD ( Sofa Blues) from the same time period of an FM radio broadcast recorded either days before or after this studio recording (and one by Van Morrison of a 1981 show in the Netherlands and Cotati Caberet! in Sonoma County CA ---I saw NRBQ among others there great spot------ to get a live version of Bright Side of the Road) in New York at Bleeker St records over 20 years ago. There is no mention of Lowell right away but then he cranks up the slide from the sofa so hence the title. Both are CDR's and would not play in all the CD players I owned except the one in my truck!

Saw Edison Electric in a Barn in South Jersey ~1969/70- It was so awesome- a very small venue in a big old Barn- and started me on a love of Freebo, Edison Electric, and Bonnie Raitt and other members that continues to this day! Freebo's hair, her voice and that wonderful music- will last a lifetime!! Yo!- anyone recall what/where that Barn was in South Jersey? The Propane heaters were Roaring- it was Winter. The upstairs (hay) Loft was filled with Music Lovers and you could see the reflection of their legs dangling over the upstairs "balcony". I was wearing a sparkly mini-dress and freezing my butt off, but it was worth it!

I'm so glad I found out and it's great that this show has become widely known. Everything about it is remarkable though for me nothing tops her performance "Love Has No Pride." There's another very high quality show from 1972 you can find by searching for "Sigma Studios" - the setlists are similar but there are a few different things you will enjoy if you like this.
