ABOUT
It's been ten years since Bonnie Raitt was at the North Sea Jazz Festival. In 2005 she released the album Souls Alike, but after that thesinger-songwriterfell still. After losing her parents and brother she had decided to withdraw from the limelight to grieve. Gradually, she began to take up music again. In the summer of 2009 she went on a charity tour with Taj Mahal. Now she is back in full swing with a new, Grammy-Award winning album, Slipstream, released on her own Redwing Records label. With her magnificent cover version of Dylan's Million Miles, among others, Raitt again proves just what a brilliant singer and guitarist she is. The title of the album, Slipstream, refers to the musical traditions - blues and soul - of which Raitt is a part. She learned her craft from blues legends like Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, and she is now being covered in turn by the likes of Adele and Bon Iver.

Thankyou. It is fine to seehear Mrs. Raitt stringing. Anyway, the whole affair to me is way to 'entertaining' a group of well off people happy enough to go to a nice festival or concert in irrelevant times. Just as a 'revival' Le Mans 24 hours. And I guess she knows it pretty well. What an extraordinary woman and artist having been through the most miraculous times of our world.

Yes Mike Finnigan, excellent keyboards. I remember when he played in Danny O'Keef's (Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues) band in the 70's

@@GeeBee909 He played with a lot of people, even on Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland album. I believe where he became best known was playing in Dave Mason's band. In addition to being a keyboardist, he was a great singer.

Also - Qualität siegt immer. Großartig !

I saw her in that same arena some years back, opening for Clapton. Nobody knew about that opening act before. So that was some kind of a nice surprice. She was just great a usual............so did Clapton too.

While I see strong similarities MUSIC is best with Bonnie Raitt, when Luck of the Draw was released, it was purchased and drama ensued with infidelity past transgressions of lust in the heart while pleasure boating on the Ohio river visiting Waldo's place in Ironton, Ohio for good food, music, liquor, docks, no fuel, lots of fun for boaters and local community who avoided trouble. They stirred it up like Bob Marley won't you come with #Calson 🐬

Few people know that Raitt is a mini-Jane Fonda. In 1972, she dedicated an album to North Vietnam, while the US was fighting NV and still had prisoners in Hanoi. Despicable human being.

Daybefore... Hadn't heard this part of the story. She can be a bit extreme. She's also a great blues player, and has done good work in other areas like "no nukes". Respect for what you are saying. I'm not a big fan of Jane Fonda either.
