its where they consider it "illegal" or they dont want you having them but this isnt that good because it more than likely wont sharpen well or hold an edge as well as a steel knife and yes i know its to get past metal detectors and all that but if its not that useful theres pretty much no point to it

Carbide holds an edge very well, and it's intended to be cheap and disposable. You should never actually need to sharpen it, as a one and done tool

the entire purpose of a blade like this is a one time use defensive weapon for a non permissive environment, not a general tool like other knives. Edge retention is not a factor when it's not being used for anything else, thus no need to sharpen.
