Get some grouse under that bird! In Nebraska, I know of a pair of wild Golden Eagles that hunt prairie chickens and sharp tailed grouse exclusively. Not sure how they catch them, but the nest is always full of grouse for their eaglets. Great video.

Yes that's the plan in September thanks. Good to hear the wild population of Golden Eagles in Nebraska is versatile and thriving!

@@hawkinsfalconry Yes, they're nice to see in the wild. They are a great danger to my Jerkins, though. If there is one in the area, I won't fly. You won't have that problem with your beast, for sure. A few pheasants out of a catapult will prepare your bird nicely for some young grouse. Good luck to you.

matsfreedom Yes I know the feeling! I was flying a female Harris’ Hawk in Scotland 14 years ago on the soar in the hills. She landed right next to me and was cowering on the ground looking up, which I thought was strange. There was a female Golden Eagle 200ft above. Very lucky. I know a few that have had Peregrines lost to them unfortunately. I use a catapult to fitness train the Harris’ Hawk by firing chick heads in the air. Easily get 50 to 100ft vertical flights. I’ll try it on the hill thanks.
