    Mike Lopez ...and? I wasn't saying anything about Syria or Iraq specifically, only about the Muslim world in general. The idea that their terrorism is motivated by US bombings is to ignore the distinct lack of terrorism from other countries the US has bombed, that are not Muslim. You'd understand that if you were able to set aside your reflexive "blame America" mindset.

  • @cypresshill09able

    @cypresshill09able

    si91 Its a combination of both, radical views on Islam and U.S meddling in that region. The U.S has been in those regions since the early 50s constantly toppling democratically elected governments (hint: Iran ) how are you really surprised when the citizens of said countries see this and put into power any individual that says anti-American things when this is the historical reality? Same with people in Iraq or Syria who have had their families vaporized by the American military, they then turn around to the only viable options left, the armed and religious nuts in many cases and you end up with a recipe for disaster. It's not blame America when the reality is that the United States has made one hell of a clusterfuck out of Middle East along with the European powers. Vietnam and Latin America was bad, but the United States also didn't cause the largest refugee crisis in history in those regions aside from some Central American countries.

  • @si91

    @si91

    Mike Lopez Still doesn't explain the lack of terrorism from Latin America and Southeast Asia. What about the people whose villages were bombed by American planes or shot by American backed militias in these parts of the world? Why didn't they see Buddhist or Catholic religious nuts as the only option? Because Islam is a religion of evil and stands against everything that America stands for, a distinction that cannot be said for any other major world religion. Moreover, your argument doesn't explain the contemporaneous rise of Islamic terrorism in other parts of the world, like Chechnya, India, Thailand, the Philippines, etc. Furthermore, if Islamic terrorism was really a response to the US killing Muslims, these terrorist organizations wouldn't also be killing Muslims, oppressing women, hanging gays, none of which is behavior brought upon by American foreign policy. There's plenty of anti Americanism in the world, in no small part due to American foreign policy. But only the Islamic world produces terrorism on such a large scale.

  • @cypresshill09able

    @cypresshill09able

    7 жыл бұрын

    si91 Go back and reread what I said, I said that radical Islam and a mix of American foreign policy has brought a hybrid of terrorism we've never seen before. The fact that there is a presence of Islamic extremists in many of these lands that are bombed like Iraq and Syria opens up oppurtunities for disillusioned citizens whose families have been murdered to feel part of something (even if a gross sense of belonging) and in a sense get revenge on playing field that can be very religious. It's perverted and atrocious but the truth is Islam isn't the only thing to blame, take a look at this notice how it was only when Saudis our supposed allies started funding mosques all over the world in early 90s that we started worrying about potential terrorist attacks? Why is that? Why weren't large scale Islamic terrorist attacks or the thought of a bearded guy in a cave somewhere in the desert planning to get to hijacked airliners to smash into the tallest buildings of a busy American city a concern or even a thought before the 90s? Maybe because your theory of Islam being the sole blame is utter B.S. Islam deserves some blame but to say that Islam is the whole blame for what's going on is inaccurate and an easy way out to avoid criticism of American foreign policy.

  • @cypresshill09able

    si91 Are you going to deny that radical Islam's growth has skyrocketed since the Iraq War all over Europe, Asia and the United States?

    Americans should can it with Assad already or at least admit that the real reason why the want him out of Syria has nothing to do with him being a dictator. I mean, if you wanna rid the middle east of dictatorships, surely, countries like Saudi Arabia or Qatar should be at the top of your list, not Syria.

    You see, I would say that the fundamentalists actually hate the US far more for all the reasons you mentioned after the bombing. You have to bear in mind that we're not talking carpet bombing here. Despite what you may think the majority of Iraqis and Afghanis have not been personally affected by any kind of bombing campaign. That many of the uneducated and largely ignorant people on the ground hate you is more to do with Islamist propaganda than anything the US actually does.

    Political fact of life: It's a lot easier for a President to drop a few bombs than it is to put boots on the ground, however, in many of these instances we DID have boots on the ground (usually Lots of boots): Korea, Vietnam, Laos (unofficially), Cambodia, we stupidly had hundreds of brave US Marines in a sitting duck barracks in Lebanon, Grenada (yes, a stupid unneeded move by Bedtime for Bonzo), Panama, Bosnia and Afghanistan. In Libya, we didn't have ENOUGH boots on the ground which led to the fiasco (and Hillary's unending heartache) at Benghazi. So, by and large, it was NOT just bombing.

    well, although i agree america should stop bombing random middle-eastern countries, i think that it's a bit unfair to assume that all terrorists are islamic radicals. o.O just for the record, i'm not a religious person by any means, and despite my patriotic view of norway, i consider myself a Terran as opposed to someone from any one country :3

    And then the UN investigation team, said the US backed rebels used Sarin they got from Turkey in Ghouta, another bay of Tonkin. Maybe the US should just NOT jump to conclusions then ignore evidence.

    Ajay Pasricha agent orange wasn’t a chemical weapon, or at least it wasn’t meant to be one. The company that produced it lied about it not being harmful.

    Funny, but sadly true, American s must realise by the time they say "we've freed contry X from Y" there's nothing left on the ground to call home, no people no homes no clean water no trees no nothing. Its like me getting your stolen car back from the thief by shooting an RPG at it, sure you got rid of the thief but that thing ain't a car anymore.
