With skills like yours you don't need to be on the ground long enough but if you're ever in a situation where you need a long manual, I found that doing an air boost trick instead of a ground boost trick will not only reset the manual meter but also reset your momentum along with the burst of speed from the boost trick. That way the manual meter doesn't drain as quickly after the boost trick. Proper respect to you, that combo and route was awesome and a great watch.

Never played Jet Set when I was little. But still some how this game hits a nostalgic chord with me. Also the game play man... Wonderful. The music is just so awesome as well...

this is so good dude. i remember for the achievement all i did was get my multiplier up to around 40x then stayed up here on this rail 5:15 and kept tricking back and forth since it never kicks you off lol

This game is definitely inspired by jet set but I also get reminded so much of the Tony Hawk games since I grew up more with those.

Yeah, I never played JSR nor JSRF, but I bought this game because it reminded me of the DS cel-shaded Tony Hawk games (American Sk8land, Proving Ground and Downhill Jam)

I had no idea as well, until I found myself needing to google how to get the collectables where I needed to be on inline skates to break the floor glass. Until there I thought the game expected you to use the turrets (or some other out of the box thinking) to access some areas. In that mysterious maze-like area in Pyramid Island, there was an outfit on a top of a container that's supposed to be accessed by hydrant that I managed to reach by kicking some objects and making them get stuck on a corner, so I could use them as platforms, lol

For some reason if you jump from that spot the game bugs and ends the combo. I intentionally wanted to end it up there so it worked out anyway lol

@@Bryonato Hahahaha in this case you were lucky, I imagined that you wanted to close the combo on that platform. I also asked for some opinions on the web and was told that it's a bug that often happens when you jump at the end of the rail, so it's better to jump a little first, and unfortunately it also happens from the ground when you jump by holding down manual+boost.

Off-topic, but how do you get a recording like this in OBS to playback so smoothly? I've been recording videos for years and mine have always had the occasional bout of microstutter in them (but not during gameplay, of course) that drives me up the wall. It's happened on nearly every laptop I've owned in the past, and I've never been able to figure out how to get rid of it.

I’d try messing with the fps settings video, you can change between different frames sometimes 60 is too much for my system so I put it to 30 then checking the output setting I have my encoder on hardware nvenc h.264.

Plus, I tried buying a desktop a couple of years back when I tried to fit it into my room, and it exhibited the same issues, so I highly doubt it's a laptop-only issue.

If you drop a combo, pause the game, exit and reload, because chances are you aren't gonna make up what you've lost. Ideally you'll want to finish those score challenges in a single combo.

He's using boost trick on the ground, doing so will reset the manual meter for short time As long as you have plenty of boost you can boost trick to another rail or wall ride

While holding manual on ground, also hold boost and then trick, but dont boost before manual, it will break a combo

Also it wasn't really shown off in this video, but you can also reset the meter by doing an aerial boost trick. The only thing is that you have to complete the whole trick in order to reset the meter (if you land too quickly it won't work). So you have to do the boost trick *immediately* after jumping. More difficult than doing the grounded one but it keeps momentum well and looks pretty sick. Some other videos on youtube show it off well.
