    If you want an excellent combo machine, especially for legs, you should think about buying a Titan Fitness SquatMax MD, because not only is it outstanding for belt squats, which are far safer to do than front or back squats, you can also detached the loading pin, which slides on and off, and use it for upper body exercises, which includes curls, reverse curls, front raises, vertical rows, rows, shrugs presses, and triceps extensions. You can also anchor your feet on the resistance band pegs and put your legs through the well to do ab exercises, like situps and crunches. You can also use the platform to do plyo box exercises. I own four home gyms: a garage gym, a basement gym, an extension room gym, and a backyard patio gym, and I own many different types of leg exercise machines and exercise equipment for legs. Far and away, the SquatMax Md is the best leg exercise equipment I own. I own the rack-mountable version, which doesn't have to mounted on a squat stand or power rack. Instead, I mounted mine on four stacks of four 16" x 8" x 4 inch solid concrete construction blocks (one stack of four blocks in each of the four corners. I also suggest spliting a 16 inch x 16 inch rubber paver in half and put it in between the concrete blocks and the metal paver. I made a stack of 3 solid concrete construction blocks for steps to it.

    Coop, you should rate these machines against the functionality of the rack-integrated functional trainers since I have a strong feeling those who spent the money on the Ares/Athena (and those that followed) are the same ones willing to spend that kinda cash on equipment. For example, the FT cables give me tension in the start of the lateral raise and flyes, so maybe this machine is only marginally better than that, but way better than dumbbells

  • @MelloHubb

    @MelloHubb

    3 күн бұрын

    No, cables gives you resistance at the beginning of the movement and die out towards the top just due to the movement path. This machine does not do that.

    I like the machine reviews. I get where people’s frustration comes from. Our dollars aren’t going as far as they used to and here is Coop reviewing more expensive stuff than ever. But this is still a cheaper option that most of the multi flight machine. But there’s really not anyone out there reviewing machines. I like this variety, it’s a niche that isn’t filled. But it definitely falls into a different category of home gym than most of us actually have.

    Bolts customer service is by far the worst. Have a 6 (3x3) rack and they gave me half black / chrome bolts , have 2 different kinds of (3x3) poles. 1 with numbers at every hole and 1 skipping numbers. Bought a squat bar. In the warehouse they had black on display. Got home and it was chrome. The only reason I go back because of how cheap they are and not having to pay shipping.

    I'd be super interested in the pendulum squat machine market being reviewed. After the adjustable DB, adjustable bench, BB + squat rack, air bike, lat pulldown + low row, and functional trainer - its pricey but my most desired piece of home equipment other than a leg curl machine. Both of which have BIG footprints and high price tags, but I feel after years in a commercial gym I know will get high utilization. Squats and RDLs can build some serious legs but its always nice to have another variation that isnt quite as taxing and really lets you focus on pure leg work. I know belt squats are an option but in terms of parts longevity and ease of use I'd be curious to see if a well made pendulum is nearly buy it for life worthy.

    i have the Bolt Zeus Linear Leg Press + Hack Squat -- massive piece but omg best hack squat I've ever used in terms of functionality. Have to agree with the fit/finish. Also have their Diamondback (lat pulldown + mid row) -- interesting piece and super functional. I think esp for those local to Houston area buying from Bolt is a no brainer as their customer service locally is second to none and they've taken good care of me. Hopefully they improve their delivery service for people further out as I really like what they're doing in the machine design space. Literally Panetta-level functionality at a fraction of the cost... but yeah fit and finish def hit/miss

    I have this machine and imo it outperforms cables in many aspects. The kind of resistance that it produces is very different. It allows you to train a lot heavier without cheating because everything is so locked in place. With db or cables, it is so easy to cheat when training side delts, we all know this and avoid this by using light weight for side lateral raise. With this machine, it begs you to use a lot heavier weight, as long as you keep your back perfectly upright, your form will always be perfect. That's how I love about this machine.

    Also he doesn't mention that you can do many variations of flies using this machine. Incline, flat, decline. That makes the machine very versatile, you can do front raise, side lateral raise, bent over raise, incline fly, flat fly, decline fly, one-arm pullover. All these exercises with so little footprints.

    "There’s more to lifting than squat racks, dumbbells and attachments." Like what, exactly? A bench, a rack, couple of bars and sets of db handles, a pile of plates. Add a landmine. Dip attachment. Box or step ups. Its paradise.

    Ive been eyeing this piece. It seems to have enough versatility for a home gym. Would love to see more bolt fitness and machine reviews.

    I've had reoccurring tennis elbow that has nagged me for years. Dumbell raises put pressure on it and feels uncomfortable. Anyone know if a machine like this puts less pressure on the tendons than a dumbbell raise does? Really trying to find a way to do more side lateral raises without injuring myself. Thanks!

    I made attachment points all over my rack using Sorinex short band pegs, and picked up a whole set of X-Over resistance bands. They're amazing and are great for shoulder and elbow prehab/rehab. I do flies and raises with them all the time.

    Commercial gyms don’t have combo machines because they suck. Also a large reliability and durability concern. Have one machine that does the job well and another machine that does another job well.

    If you have the extra space and money, why not buy one of these!? I would buy one machine for every body part if I had the conditions. 😂 People spend a lot of money on dumb things, is better to invest in something that will motivate you to train.

    Why does C keep reviewing this super expensive equipment. He might as well get a second channel where he reviews the 2nd hand Ferrari market.

    It's $2600. If you think that's super expensive you must be new to the home gym life. Bolt Fitness is a relatively affordable brand of strength equipment.... actual strength equipment. Machines. Not just your basic ass rack. I mean how many reviews of racks, benches, barbells, and dumbells do you possibly need? I can't be alone in being thrilled when this channel actually reviews actual strength equipment. Not just a rack.... or what I call - accessories in benches, dumbells and barbells. Would love to see more leg press, ACTUAL seated leg curl/extension selectorized machines, per deck/rear fly combo machines.... the list goes on. There's SOOO much more out there in home gym equipment that this channel could be reviewing but doesn't. Like I don't think I've seen Coop TOUCH let alone review anything from powertec and they're like a home gym equipment manufacturer OG. Seriously though.... what do you want... more dumbbell reviews? As if Coop hasn't done about 100 of those already, haha. If actual machines are too expensive for you I assume you already have a rack, bench, barbell, and some sort of dumbbell setup. If going beyond that is "too expensive" why do you continue to watch review channels? You're set already. That's like watching an electronics/tech unboxing channel and being upset they unboxed and reviewed like a $10,000+ computer or something. Like... who's going to buy that? Why do they do that? Because someone watching will be interested. Just interested with no intent of buying it.... or interested AND interested in buying it. That said.... why Coop picked this piece from Bolt to review - I don't know. Personally I'm just happy something from Bolt is on this channel. Maybe he'll start reviewing their whole line of products..... and then move onto Fettle Fitness.... which I've been wanting him to do for a couple years now. Wish he would've reviewed Bolt's seated leg curl/extension machine.... or peck deck/rear fly combo machine.... or their pendulum squat.... or their leg press.... or hack squat.... or leg press/hack squat combo machine. Or... their Odin or Loki self spotting (Smith Machine-like) flat to decline press and incline to shoulder press machines.
