Hello everyone and Happy new year once again!
This clip shows you what is going on at the wing and the engines after touchdown on the B747-400ERF.
I have captioned what is happening so as you read, watch the engines and/or the wing.
This was an approach and landing at Penang airport, Malaysia.
Chi Di Gin! Later! ✈️✈️✈️✈️😀

Thank you, Captain. This is why I always choose an aft-facing seat on long haul flights if I can.

This is the best seat area in a 747. During turbulence the wing and two engines flex and dance around, independent from each other, and it's amazing to watch from that angle!

Happy New Year, Skipper. Thanks for the video. The first change when the plane lands is the downward tilt of the wing from 0.29 to 0.31. I always find it fascinating that the wing is strong enough to support the weight of the engines and fuel, then also provide lift.

Happy new year! I now have a craving for Penang-style char kway teow from the hawkers at Tanjung Bungah beach... :)

That's cool about the leading edge flaps. I didn't realize that they retract for the reversers. I wonder if that is to prevent damage?

Hi captain, I really appreciate your content! Could you possibly make a video discussing the career path in Cathay and the salary expectations? Thank you!

Why does the slats extend again?

When reverse is cancelled, the Krueger flaps re extend for better aero dynamics. Why you may ask. Say for example a go around is initiated, and reverse is cancelled and the aircraft needs to climb again...

@@jnrb89 it's actually called a Krueger 'Flap'. It's quite a common confusion between Krueger flaps and 'Slats'. Kruegers fold outward from under the wing, almost like a landing gear. Slats are generally exposed on the leading edge of wings and slide downward and forward on extension. Kruegers are found on the 727, 747 and I believe the 707 too. Slats are generally found on most Airbus jets I believe

@@BombayPilotWala Look at the curvature difference between the inner Kreugers and the centre and outboard devices. They are similar but the more stall resistant outer 4 panels are called leading edge flaps.
