About LOT
We are one of the 12 longest-standing airlines in the world. We set out on our first flight with passengers in 1929, and we successfully fulfil the mission of a global air carrier today.
We offer comfortable and safe travels on boards of one of the world’s youngest and technologically most advanced fleets. Our expanded flight network allows us to reach the most distant corners of the world, connecting Warsaw with airports in Europe, North America and Asia.
737MAX Return to flight operations:
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), following a thorough and comprehensive review of the improvements to the Boeing 737 MAX, has authorised the return of a modified version of the aircraft to flight operations. According to the decision, after undergoing appropriate software and electrical upgrades, as well as crew training, the aircraft can take to the air again.
The review, which was conducted by EASA in cooperation with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), the lead certifying authority, and Boeing as the manufacturer, took a total of 20 months. It included EASA's own flight tests and simulator sessions. The results of the review led to a package of actions necessary to release the aircraft for air services as defined in the Airworthiness Directive:
upgrade of flight control computer software, including MCAS;
a software update to allow an alarm to be sounded in the event of a mismatch between two of the aircraft's angle of attack (AoA) sensors;
physical separation of the cables leading from the cockpit to the stabiliser trim engine;
update of the flight manual: operational limits and procedure improvement to ensure pilots have the necessary knowledge to understand and deal with any failure scenario;
mandatory training for all 737 MAX pilots before resuming flights;
update the pilots' initial and recurrent training;
testing of systems, including the angle of attack (AoA) sensor system;
implementation of an operational pre-flight without passengers prior to commercial use of each aircraft.
Additional Procedures at LOT:
At LOT we also decided to implement additional safety measures in the form of reliability flights prior to integrating the aircraft into the network. Flights were performed by two instructors and a mechanic. During the flights, an additional verification of all the aircraft's systems was made at the operational limits, including at 41,000 feet. That way we verified that all systems were working properly and responding to pilot commands. Each of our five aircraft has undergone such tests, lasting several hours. As a part of the effective preparation of LOT's staff for piloting the modified version of the B737 MAX, the training department has created an additional tool that contains a compendium of knowledge on the differences in the software and operational manual.
Intensive crew training:
All B737 pilots received professional theoretical training describing all systems of the MAX aircraft. The next step was simulator training consisting of demonstrations and practical use of procedures on a B737 MAX simulator. All sessions were conducted by Boeing instructors under the supervision of our fleet instructors.
In accordance with our internal requirements, each pilot made several flights with an instructor, during which they practiced standard operational procedures. Additional training was also given to the Cabin Crew.
Discover Boeing 737-8 MAX
The 737 MAX makes use of the latest technological solutions in its engines, wings and meticulously designed cabin. We chose MAX because we care about the comfort of our guests.
The cabin of our MAX was created according to the unique Boeing Sky Interior concept, applied previously in Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Its features include special soundproofing of the cabin, ergonomically shaped furnishings, eye-friendly lighting, as well as easily accessible and spacious luggage compartments. To make your flight comfortable, seats were designed in line with the current trends and results of the latest research. They now recline at an optimal angle. The headrests can be adjusted in four different ways. All seats are equipped with handy compartments and USB sockets to let you charge your mobile devices. The MAX cabin is not just comfortable. Equal emphasis was put on its aesthetics. Dynamic LED lighting enhances the beauty of the interior. The intensity of light can be adjusted according to need or time of day.

Absolutely agree, incredibly smooth. I was surprised to hear 'Speedbrake up' call out as I was certain they were still airborne. Perhaps I should fly Ryanair less often, you can't miss the touchdown flying with them 😉

Incredibly competent crew and fabulous views of London that were crystal clear. Great production.
Wow that was a smooth landing
This guy lands a 737 and makes it look easy , perfect,right down the middle. My first attempt at landing a Cessna 172 was a horror show , my instructor had to take the yoke . We nearly ended up in turf .
Two very confident, cool headed and professional pilots. The interaction between these guys is possibly the best that I've seen on this channel. And, that landing was sweet.
Dziękuję za wspólny lot. To była przyjemność oglądać pracę 100% profesjonalistów takich jak Wy Panowie. Życzę sukcesów i samych dobrych wrażeń podczas pracy ale mając takie "biuro" jest to zapewnione. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.

Great video indeed; one of the best, if not the best, about a landing at Heathrow. Much respect and admiration for these pilots. Thanks for posting.
I like these videos. The bits i pay attention to the most are all the briefings and what the pilots do/say. Please don’t ever get rid of these. I know the briefings are airline specific but its good to get the gist

I’ve seen this captain many videos, he’s a great communicator with co-pilots
Is there a better ATC service than at Heathrow? It was a quiet day but quiet or busy they're never rushed, well articulated, standard phraseology, polite. Compare that to US :)
You can't even tell when the plane touches down! Smooth AF!!
I wish there could be an honest no holds barred interview with this pilot and get his feelings on the Max both as it was before and now.

Thanks for sharing, Flew B737-200's ages ago (1980's) and I try to explain how much more input you have to do compared to smaller aircraft (King Airs and my C414A I fly now) seems to go beyond them. This video will help that, not even a windy landing!

It was nice to hear you did a single engine taxi to the stand for fuel efficiency. I’ve asked about this on other videos and everyone always says “that’s not done it isn’t worth it”.
@lorenzoFCIM1908

Depends the aircraft, most recent modern aircraft can taxi with just one engine on idle. Other factors can affect this however.
@GNX157
2 жыл бұрын
@@lorenzoFCIM1908 I also have another idea that I know will get done eventually and it will have been mine but I don’t have the money to invest and make it happen. I want electric powered tugs, that the ground crew attach to the plane, but the pilots control it and they use it to push back, then take the planes all the way out to just before the runway. Where the ground crew (just sitting inside the tug, or later remote controlled from elsewhere) will then disconnect and take the tug back to the stand. The pilots then use the engines the rest of the way, either having started them shortly before arrival to runway, or have them just idling. It will save more fuel but again for a while people will say it’s not worth it. Eventually it will be though.

In airports with long taxi patterns this is standard operating procedure for many airline. Most commonly seen in never aircraft like the b737 max, the a320 family, a350 and b787. But single engine taxi out has been mostly removed due to some incidents, as it increases work load prior to takeoff, and pilots can become too distracted. The main reason why airplanes are not tugged around, is because it is very slow and harder to control.
What an amazing and expert captain!🤩
What I'd call a perfect landing!
@mscigniewrudzinski5053
Жыл бұрын
@@stevemar.6758 well, he crossed the threshold at about 48ft, maintained the wings level, flared the plane at about 30-20ft, smoothly pulled the levers to idle, touched down exactly on the markers, on the centerline and selected reverse thrust instantly. It looked quite perfect to me.
what a landing 🛬✈
Very good.👏👏👏👍👍
This is why the two pilot configuration will not be going away anytime soon the plane is flying itself but there are a lot of things happening in a busy airspace with switching frequencies checking approach accuracy. They are very busy and not really flying the plane manually much at all.
Super Landing !!!
The CRM observed by this crew is brilliant
Brawo chłopaki !
Is the Captain single? I'm in love. Great landing too, btw. Smooth as buttah.

Excellent captain
Nice video of London and even better to see a MAX capable of actually landing properly 🤔
Nice job, such a quiet aircraft . Beautifully laid out cockpit , very nice aircraft .
Nice video! I just want to give you a tip, my father who is a pilot(with really good landings) told me that it is completely unecessary to give that much input on the yoke. He said that the best thing to do is to adjust the armrest to a comfortable height when holding the yoke neutral(a/p engaged), hold arm still and put down the armrest then just take it very easy on the input👍

Btw don’t think that i am trying to tell you how to do your job😂 i have always dreamt of being a pilot and i find your videos very inspiring
viry nice landing 😍😍
I noticed that the bigger airplanes more easy to land like b 777 and b 747 , i think the heavy weight decrease the wind effect especially during landing .Is this right?
