Its sad they retiring the A380 all the hard work in creating this beautiful piece of technology flew on many different aircraft but must the A380 a class on its own will be missed 😢

A superlative professional cockpit crew. Concise briefings and conduct of the flight. This is what should ALWAYS take place in the cockpit. After 35 years of doing this, great to see this crew doing it right, and making it look easy! Such a great credit to themselves and their airline. Kudos to all.

I disagree, little in cross checks, too much confirmation with no check call. No speed checks for flaps 1. Too much lose talk. None standard calls. They would be a few briefing points if I had been a check Captain on this flight.

Amazing the A380 can land at the same speed as an A320

It’s an Airbus… built for pilots with bare 500 hour minimums around the world. It’s kind of the iPhone of the sky - built to work even when less-than-competent people need to make a phone call (or, in this case, less-than-1500 hour pilots need to bus people around every second and third world country…)

Strangely enough I have a friend who really flies A380s for Qatar Airways (the plane in that video is not an A380), maybe I can put you two in touch and you can give him a rim job. But you’ll be disappointed because he is just a nice but ordinary man, not amazing at all.

The difference in the control input with a small joystick and an aircraft with conventional controls is amazing

As a casual observer, it is interesting to see the pilots use English to speak to each other. I understand it is the standard when talking to AT but is it the accepted practice within the cockpit also?

Whenever I see the cockpit,I think the pilot's view to the front window is hindered by the high dashboard(front guage board)..The front window looks smal and the guage board is high...

How can passengers go into that cockpit with permission?

@@truthadvocacy well, it's a fact and as one said: "if you want to find your look-alike, go check in Bulgaria". A crossroad between East and West for thousands of years, yes we have all kinds of genes mixed. One here can look like Greek, Lebanese, Italian, French, Scandinavian etc. In the end we're all humans and more important is how you blend in a team. And I bet you Qatari has lots of top qualified and experienced pilots and staff.

The captain and first officer rotate between pilot flying and pilot monitoring so that they get about the same amount of time in each role

It looks similar to driving an automatic car. Not so difficult. The only difference is that you need to take out the tires before landing.

Interesting, the Co landed the plane. I wonder if that’s always the process.

There's no process like the captain should only land... when the captain is cleared so give STL he can give the FO landing... Terms and conditions of wx, runway conditions, etc apply

It's a common mistake to assume the Captain is the one who is always flying the plane. The First Office (NOT copilot) is as much qualified to fly (takeoff, fly and land) the plane as the Captain. The Captain is just the one considered "in charge" of the flight. Most often, the Pilot Flying vs. the Pilot Monitoring is alternated between the Captain and First Officer for every flight so that the duty is shared between the both pilots.
