Dont be so quick to judgement The majority of complaints are about how her producers ran the show and how they treated people.

Steve Shirripa who used to book her when he ran a comedy club (he's an actor now) said she's a total sociopath on his podcast last week too.

She needs to get over herself. Part of who you are is how you treat others.

The same people who called Rosie O'Donnell "the Queen of Nice" are all now acting surprised that Ellen might be a monster in private? LOL.

I was a waitress in 1989 at the Punchline in Walnut Creek, CA. Ellen did stand up at this club several times during my employment at the club. She made fun of my appearance on a couple of occasions as part of her act, which...ok, she is is comedian, maybe we can allow her this :-), however it wasn't pleasant mocking and completely unprovoked. Off stage often the comedians that performed at the club would chat with the staff, but not Ellen, only to ask for a drink, never made eye contact, she clearly thought she was above the "staff" at the club. She wasn't the prime time celeb she is today, back in he 80s and she was not friendly back then either.

When there was the writers strike most of her staff said Ellen was mean spirited and downright cruel.

I've always thought her game show antics like dropping people through trap doors, pulling them up in the air or dunking them in goo was really sadistic and showed a weird side of her. It's not funny to hear people shrieking out of fright, but Ellen is always killing herself laughing. There's just something super mean-spirited about it.

Anyone with half a brain would have realised this ages ago

I always thought the way she acted was ‘too much, fake’.

I haven’t watched Ellen in years. I thought her games she played were so demeaning and humiliating to see contest used for her amusement. That’s right but treating people with respect and kindness is what most humans strive for.🙁

When I first saw a picture of her, I thought , “What the hell is it?” Thankfully she is not popular or well known in England.

This makes me sad. I truly used to love Ellen as a comedian. She seems like such a kind person on TV and I really admired her for coming out way back in the 90’s. But now, there are so many instances of her being rude, disrespectful and unkind that this whole scandal saddens me. Never look to celebrities on how to measure success and happiness. It’s all an illusion. Trust in God to lead you down the right path in life. He will never fail you.

I loved the ellen show years ago, but I started noticing little things about her on the show. I stop watching and supporting mainly of how she treated some of her guests. I will never put money in her pocket again.

Obviously their opinion was valuable enough to you to warrant a reply. Do you think the amount of likes a comment has is at all related to how valid someone's opinion is? How many likes did your comment get? Does that make it less valid than the comment you replied to? I would encourage you to accept the fact that some people are going to disagree with you. In the future, should you want to change anyone's mind, you should try showing them why you think differently instead of trying to belittle them into submission. I dont care about Ellen or the OP, but when I read your comment I felt sorry for you that some one elses opinion regarding a celebrity would cause you to respond so defensively. There are many causes in this world worth standing up for, but using your energy on celebrity gossip is a waste. There was a show where she, had some displays and she was giving things away to the audience when they were coming in. And the sign said one per, person she had hidden 🎥 One girl took two items ,She humiliated her On the show on national television.. she said to her didn’t you see the sign you don’t know how to read, The girl said she was taking one for somebody else she seem so humiliated she was an overweight young girl , She commented something about her weight , !!! I felt so bad for her. !!! I never watched the show again. !!

She's annoying not funny. She looks scary and evil to me. Her significant other knows the truth. She is probably trying to find the courage to get out. The negative press may give her the support and financial backing she needs. She probably is strategizing every day.

Hello all! I think the OP makes a great point. You can't assume everyone is going to fit into the mould of your expectations. It's short-sighted to do so. There are loads of reasons people do not exchange "pleasantries". What if someone was living with Asperger's Syndrome and you didn't know it right away (because WHY would you until you get to know the person)? Would you post a whole video about how awful that person was because they didn't look you directly in the eyes one time? We cannot blindly name call people we don't know! That would make US awful people, wouldn't it? And remember to say hello to people when your ranting about a celebrity who didn't say hello to someone. :D

I work in psychiatry and know there's any number of reasons to avoid eye contact or to avoid speaking- they could be having delusions that a person is a threat to them for example. I'm only talking about people who avoid pleasantries out of sheer rudeness or thinking they are above someone socially etc - which I believe was most likely the case in Ellen's situation. If there was some psychological reason, then Portia Rossi wouldn't have introduced the security guy to begin with

I have always been and Ellen fan. There are only 2 times I haven't felt 'close, through TV) The first time her and Portia were showing bad gifts that have been sent over the years, such as portraits, etc. The other time was about a gift I sent to Ellen that was a quilted throw with gorillas in it. I don't NEED an acknowledgement, a thank you would have been fine. It hurt because it took all of my savings to make and send it. Please carry on Ellen, hold your head high!

For God's sake she's an actor! Actors are not paid for being nice just for pretending.

My fam is crazy and narcissistic. In general, I try to be very kind and too positive. On special days (b'days, etc) I have those crazy fam get-togethers where I find myself yelling (twitching), sweating, making ugly faces, rolling my eyes, yelling again, shaking, smoking in a room, running back and forth and then they go about spreading around that I'm ill and NOT nice- all I want is for them to stop the nagging to have a happy fun memorable time.
