Bro dont football players do a lot of cardio per day ? How are they building muscle . Dont they lose muscle mass doing cardio?
Look at some of the physics of NFL Players. Of course they do a lot of hypertrophy, without losing explosivness nor speed.

They’re big not because of football but because they are genetic freaks
Bodybuilding in sports is the biggest myth in fitness ever. The improvements not just physically, but what it does your mind and mentality is game-changing. An analogy I tend to use often is the throwing a stone and throwing the feather. I remember being 18-19 years old 6'0-6'1 143lbs, skinny as a rake. Now 1.5 yars later same height and176lbs. Nowadays I'm, stronger, quicker, more nible, agile, faster than ever before. Why? I added weight, size, density and fullness to my body. Try throwing a feather with all your might, force and aggression, you'll struggle to get it even 4-5 yards if your lucky, wind might even blow it back at ya. Throwing the rock, a little heavier, denser, rounder yet you could launch that thing into oblivion! Great stuff guys

Hey Coach, appreciate all these videos. Just found your channel a few weeks ago. I don't play or train for any sport, but I've always been interested in being extremely athletic and not just "jacked." I'm basically programming my split to look like a RB's off-season haha. It might seem a bit stupid, but I figure why not if explosive athleticism and a killer physique is my goal. Your channel is informative, and extremely underrated. Hoping it continues to grow for you!

I am about 5’11 190 not fat probably like 15% in 10th grade rn. My coach is putting me on the line but I do not like it and want to switch. Do you have any tips or advice in training or in general?
How would you see original rest pause for football? I'm talking about the Jim Willams 5+1+1+1 and so... It seems to me a fair compromise in both mass and strenght for off season athletes although the intensity is sky high and this is not optimal for sport performing people...

I wish I could work out more but I have cows and I work on a horse farm I get home at 6 or 7. Then I have to work with my animals. I used to play football before we moved. Now since I'm homeschooled I cant do sports unless I enroll in a class but I dont got time to do stuff like that anymore. I just would like some simple quick workout. Maybe just some guidance 😂.

Honestly, you don't. Not after some initial gains, at any rate. It's far more optimal to incorporate resistance training of some description, to better facilitate progressive overload.

Hey coach so I’m around 195 pounds benching 200 pounds, I have a good amount of fat on my body, what do you suggest for me to do with diet and conditioning to get leaner and skinnier, but obviously keep getting stronger and get heavier? Like how do I balance around 3k calories but not develops fat?
@star08094

Lift heavy, eat a shit load of protein, monitor fat consumption, incorporate cardio to burn fat. Basically replace fat intake with protein to still eat enough calories and the cardio can help shave that fat off. Still lift really heavy so you're not getting weaker and you continue to pack on muscle mass. I'm no expert, but that's stuff I've been told, so if anyone wants to fact check me or add on, feel free to do so. Hope this can help you

@@zyzzimmortal1286 By eating a lot, mainly protein. To gain mass/muscle, your caloric intake has to be higher than you burn, which simply just means eat more. In the Pros, that's their whole job, but from personal experience, I've lost 10-12 pounds through an entire season. That's because the heavy lifting is mainly done over the offseason and lifting during the season is to stay strong and prevent injury, plus with the added cardio of course. I guess the point is yes you can lose muscle mass doing all that cardio, but with NFL players, they have the resources that allow them to get in the necessary nutrients/calories.

Does your bodybuilding program help with explosiveness on the field?
@GarageStrength
3 жыл бұрын
The program is focused on hypertrophy training, but there are some explosive/athletic movements that translate more directly to football than you will find in a normal bodybuilding program. Hope that helps 👍
You know what’s more impressive than that running back going 93 yards? That linemen making it that far 😂
Stop trying to build explosiveness in the gym. The gym is for pure strength, the field is for skill. No gym movement will make you technique better at running, cutting, shifting, pushing off one foot, hand eye coordination. Get stronger and practice with that new strength.
Some football players if they focused on bodybuilding could probably be competitive
Which football?
Americans: "Football!" The rest of the world: "Nah mate, you're running with an egg, that's not football, that's equipped rugby. 🏉 🤣"

Nobody cares
Most people would rather play sports instead of lifting weights, because the improvement is too limited. Until we change the improvement and environment of weightlifting there will be more people playing sports than lifting weights. We have to find a way to burn more calories while doing weightlifting
