Look at some of the physics of NFL Players. Of course they do a lot of hypertrophy, without losing explosivness nor speed.

Bodybuilding in sports is the biggest myth in fitness ever. The improvements not just physically, but what it does your mind and mentality is game-changing. An analogy I tend to use often is the throwing a stone and throwing the feather. I remember being 18-19 years old 6'0-6'1 143lbs, skinny as a rake. Now 1.5 yars later same height and176lbs. Nowadays I'm, stronger, quicker, more nible, agile, faster than ever before. Why? I added weight, size, density and fullness to my body. Try throwing a feather with all your might, force and aggression, you'll struggle to get it even 4-5 yards if your lucky, wind might even blow it back at ya. Throwing the rock, a little heavier, denser, rounder yet you could launch that thing into oblivion! Great stuff guys

Hey Coach, appreciate all these videos. Just found your channel a few weeks ago. I don't play or train for any sport, but I've always been interested in being extremely athletic and not just "jacked." I'm basically programming my split to look like a RB's off-season haha. It might seem a bit stupid, but I figure why not if explosive athleticism and a killer physique is my goal. Your channel is informative, and extremely underrated. Hoping it continues to grow for you!

How would you see original rest pause for football? I'm talking about the Jim Willams 5+1+1+1 and so... It seems to me a fair compromise in both mass and strenght for off season athletes although the intensity is sky high and this is not optimal for sport performing people...

Lift heavy, eat a shit load of protein, monitor fat consumption, incorporate cardio to burn fat. Basically replace fat intake with protein to still eat enough calories and the cardio can help shave that fat off. Still lift really heavy so you're not getting weaker and you continue to pack on muscle mass. I'm no expert, but that's stuff I've been told, so if anyone wants to fact check me or add on, feel free to do so. Hope this can help you

@@zyzzimmortal1286 By eating a lot, mainly protein. To gain mass/muscle, your caloric intake has to be higher than you burn, which simply just means eat more. In the Pros, that's their whole job, but from personal experience, I've lost 10-12 pounds through an entire season. That's because the heavy lifting is mainly done over the offseason and lifting during the season is to stay strong and prevent injury, plus with the added cardio of course. I guess the point is yes you can lose muscle mass doing all that cardio, but with NFL players, they have the resources that allow them to get in the necessary nutrients/calories.
