A very useful introduction to body language in work. I have already decided to subtly change my handshake, and will use this as a reference in the future. Thank you for sharing this.
Another EXCELLENT video by Peter Clayton. I have studied many aspects of body language in business over the years and can always rely on Peter to provide superb insights, hints and tips, all backed up by real life experience.
when I want to shake someone's hand I often turn my palm up because I always thought people would feel more comfortable that way... but I guess I'll stop doing that from now on xD great video btw... simple to understand and really informative!
Just came across this great video. Thank you for uploading it, Peter. And having seen your reply to EE Coaching, I took the liberty of using it for my small group of kids who come to my house for private tutoring. I promise you, I'm not making money on it at all... Thank you in advance for your 'permission' :-)
Thanks for this precious information....it helps me in many ways..
This is an excellent introduction to body language. Very helpful tips for enhancing daily interactions. I've been very impressed with other training material that I've seen of Peter's so I was particlarly pleased to find this clip. Well done!!
This is quite possibly the best explanation I've found on body language. However, I will comment that most of us have grown up with being told that strong eye contact (without looking psychotic) is good and portrays confidence. I believe at this point, people are more used to eye contact and many won't feel uncomfortable by it due to frequent experience. However, I agree that you notice if someone is not used to it and seems intimidated. At this point it is a good to look away periodically.
Well done, good information and not just an advertisement for a book, like some of the other videos on here. Enjoyed it.
Excellent video information. Thank you.
Thank you for taking your precious time for this video. I have an interview on Monday so will use what seen here :) x
Sorry for the delay, it's my first day back in the office. What you suggest makes a lot of sense and I'm writing a an explanation that I will put up on KZread soon. I will offer a few different ideas that might help. Best wishes -Peter
Wow, this guy's voice is good for explaining things.
I would just like to say thankyou for this presentation and also for the way it was presented. It was very clear and easy to follow. Best regards
You helped me in learning some new body languages. Thanks...

HEY There, We was wondering over here about when you talked about Business; talking about or asking questions to see there normal BL then when you go into deeper matters you can tell and be prepared. Well The question is "Whats A Really Good way To Present a good close non-verbally i hear asking and silence, but as far as Your Ideas on that, over-all Would be helpful because of the way you explain and express it...
THANK YOU
thanks, very good stuff, at times we usually forget about what our bodies are saying, and it totally gives us away, thanks i'll be more sensitive to my clients...now
I was slouching with my head down when I watched this.

A pleasure. Get in touch if something needs for info
Love the aggressive hand shake advice; will use the move in technique to neutralize it in the future.

Hi. Is that a blanket permission? If not, may I show this video in my training sessions.
@EECoaching . Yes you can. Let me know if I can help with answers. Best wishes Peter
I have a question on hand shake. What are your thoughts about a body builder who lift heavy weights? When he shake hands he usually keep is very soft because he think he is not sure how much pressure is too much for a normal person...In that case do you think the point of view of the normal person change? so does it mean that there is different signs for body builders?? - thanks!
Can I download this video for my class?
@YourCultureVids They don't differ Studies in the 60s showed that human emotions and micro expressions are consistent Tested by comparing Americans Papau new guineans and Japanese
You give the impression of being a very harmless person because of your raised inner eyebrows.
May I suggest a personal opinion that we don't think in words? Many of us say that we know what we mean but can't explain it. Thus we have an idea but putting into words is a separate process. Just an idea.
how i can download this video ?
wow
At last, a scientific reason as to why my housemate's ridiculous tendency to stand square on and stare when not even saying anything makes me dislike him so much, almost feel a bit aggressive towards him. I wonder if something's not right about this guy. Once when I was coming home from work he laughed and said "I walked and I STILL got home before you!". I laughed back and said "What a loser". He actually followed me into my room and said "how does that make me a loser?". So irritating.

body language has a bad name as it seems mostly about tricks to manipulate people, I didn't have this impression with this video however, thank you

I always asked my office staff to smile before they answered the phone. It made a big difference in how potential customers perceived our staff.
