I saw Huey P. Newton when he spoke at Temple University's Mcgonicle Hall in Philly in 1970. When I was working with the BPP on Columbia Ave. my father told me, you need to check out the Muslims because what the Panthers are saying is what the Muslims have been saying. My grandmother told me, you can't beat this system with a gun because they will come with a bigger one, I told her she was speaking the truth but it comes a time when you have to stand up to the oppressors and let them know you are willing to die for your freedom. I was totally surprised when my father told me he met Bobby Seale at a restaurant where he had coffee every Saturday morning on Chelton Ave. Bobby Seale had a barbeque shop down the street and would sit with dad a few times. I was so happy to hear that. During that time we as a people were moving in the right direction, we respected one another and worked together. The enemy saw our unity growing and had to do something, so they started spreading guns and drugs into our communities and destroyed what was becoming a new inspiring generation.

Exactly! Drugs like Crack came right after they violently disbanded the Black Panther Party. They said the Shakurs used to go to the inner cities and disarm the drug dealers while dumping all their drugs down the sewers. People in the 60s knew where those drugs were really coming from..
