D’Aangelo is a national treasure and the Vanguard Black Messiah Album is so powerful ✊🏾 All Power to All People! Somebody needs to bubble wrap D’Aangelo🥰 still listening in 2021
I have so much respect for D'Angelo as an artist for speaking the truth. I was saying the same thing about the music industry. You can see who's in control over our music. Our people will sell us out for 💰 to help keep their own people down and blinded. Thanks D'Angelo for caring enough about us!!! We are the people!!! ❤❤❤❤
Release the whole interviews no cuts!!!
This video is absolutely amazing on how history & music history is being talked about in this one video. I applaud D'Angelo for speaking about the racial injustice in his new album. Paul Robeson stated that "artists are the gatekeepers of truth, we're civilizations radical voices." This will be a new chapter for artists to use music to heal and change the world.
Starting at 2:40 … I remember my dad telling us that quote as kids & how they had constitutional rights that many didn't believe they knew or could recite at drop of a hat to pigs. Dad was a former Panther in the Bay area.

You may be cool, but you ain't never gonna be cooler that Bobby Seale and D'angelo in a drop top Falcon. Wise words from two absolute legends. It annoys me how we still need to be having this discussion in 2021.
Both Bobby and Huey are legends in history and I wish in the boondocks show they would have name Huey’s brother Bobby instead of Riley that would have been a HONEST tribute to these two guys and the BPP and all they hard work this out in for the black and minority community’s

Riley’s character was not based on Bobby. Quite the opposite. Huey wasn’t really based on Huey p newton either. Honestly

Bobby's memory is amazing
This is a great movie idea. The day in the life of an old revolutionary turned professor and a modern soul singer unsatisfied with the social and musical climate riding thru Oakland sharing stories ...
My frist time seeing this amazing and powerful

I enjoy watching Indigenous African American people, these men here showing their proud happy mindset of having done something very significant to the survival of their family and community. This is heartwarming it shows that the lives and intelligence that they are blessed to have are not in vain. Like watching proud Fathers, they are our forefathers who are wise men of honor.
not nearly enough. more more. i want an hour of conversation. all the places their conversation roamed.
'Power to the People!'
I want to rejoin this multiplying of the black panthers activities for the winning party

D'Angelo seems pretty out of touch. Plenty of artists talking about these issues and more. He's plugging his album through the new york Times? No kids are paying attention to that. Why doesn't he call out those in power who have a greater responsibility to the well-being of the people?
The neo colonial mouth piece, the 'nyt' pontificating on black injustice? Rich, real real REAL rich, LOL.
