Bobby Rush's Classic Blues: Acoustic Guitar Sessions
Музыка
Louisiana bluesman Bobby Rush stopped by the Acoustic Guitar Sessions studio to play a few songs from his 60-plus year career.
First up was “You Just Like a Dresser,” from his 2013 album Down in Louisiana, then “Tough Times,” followed by “Porcupine Meat,” the title track off his 2016 release of the same name.
“Porcupine meat” refers to a romance gone awry, in which Rush compares the state of relationship limbo - he knows it’s over but he can’t quite walk away - as porcupine meat, because it’s “too fat to eat, too lean to throw away.” He adds with a smile, “I been there.”
Rush ends with a spoken-word rendition of “I Don’t Want Nobody Hanging Around,” a humorous ditty about possession.

A legend. I met him. And I love him. He came to one of our church functions. Some were offended but some were glad.

If I may ask why were people offended
Bobby projects the blues brilliantly, why, because he FEELS the BLUES deep down in his soul, and that's what separates Bobby from the emulators..
lyrics are priceless
Thank you for your honest, soulful blues playing. You are a true iconic blues player.
This guy is amazing.
His lyrics are always raw 🤣

great american stuff......brillant made brother....brillant 😎🎸
Awesome. Porcupine Meat is one great album. I have all of Bobby Rush's albums and then some... Many people tried to deny his blues because of his style which crosses funk, soul, rnb, rock... Bobby Rush makes music, but the core is blues. This is the way it was done in the beginning. Many people play the blues, only Bobby Rush has done blues like he has... No offense, but BB King or Eric Clapton do not have the swagger that Bobby Rush brings. Bobby Rush has what Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf had. Bobby Rush has elements of others, yet he is unique. Bobby Rush is comfortable being him in kind/humbling presence, singing, lyrics, show, 100% all the time. Bobby Rush is not someone who decided to sing the blues... He is what he loves to do. Bobby Rush is the Blues. PS.Bobby Rush, As cool.as we are, I don't want you around my woman when I'm gone! I saw the way you looked at her the last time we saw you.
Authentic blues - great!
Outstanding!!!
Awesome! You definately deserve more subscribers!

Oh my god I didn't know you could play... Ps. My wife lost a lot of fat and,,, the pilot light went out on the oven... It became just like a new ice box,,, if you know what I mean...
Cool song. I never met a woman I could or would trust. lol.. I just take my woman one day at a time. You can never tell what a woman is going to do. Until she has already done it.
