    Why doesn't Heat front office get flak from national media for doing nothing? Jimmy said himself that he isn't naturally talented, implying he isn't the best, but probably is the hardest worker. But regardless, why didn't Pat Riley do anything to bring in talent to help win a championship? It's always a constant of "winning with g league players," which is impressive, but when are they gonna play with nba level talent?

    Because it takes two teams to agree on a deal... And the heat didn't/ don't really have assets that other teams want..(maybe now they with there 2younger players). But It's not like the heat having tried... They didn't have assets for Lillard who wanted Miami... They didn't have assets for KD who picked Miami or Phoenix... Last time Miami had money to go after a free agent they signed Kyle Lowry because Jimmy wanted him in Miami and that didn't work out... Then they were stuck paying Kyle Lowry almost 30 million a year... When he was not productive and out of shape... Again it takes two teams to agree on a trade it's not because Miami hasn't went out and tried to acquire another star... It's just the assets that Miami had at the time those players became available nobody wanted.. And that Kyle Lowry contract really set the team back because they gave up a pick and committed All that money on a sign and trade for him.

  • @jwong7

    @jwong7

    Ай бұрын

    @@JohniArmani This is exactly right. Additionally part of the issue is also that many of the Heat's players just aren't valued that highly on the market because there is a general belief that the Heat system and coaching staff make the player look better than they actually are. Take Tyler Herro for example - he is a pretty polarising player. I think most FOs across the league don't view him as a future All-Star or an All-Star talent. Duncan Robinson is viewed by some as a one trick pony. Basically the only player apart from Jimmy that FOs universally agree is a genuine stud is Bam; but the Heat would never trade him. Now that they have Jaime Jaquez and Nikola Jovic that might change because both are genuinely good young players with bright futures. Honestly, it's a bit of a small miracle that the Heat were even able to turn Kyle Lowry's contract into Terry Rozier who is a good age and fits both Jimmy and Bam timeline... And for a fraction of a price of Lillard and Beal whose contracts both look terrible now in light of what has transpired so far this season...

    They over paid Duncan Robinson, and had Old Kyle Lowry on their books at the tail end of his upper level contract. They got rid of Lowry and brought in Rozier mid season. How much do you think that they can do? They drafted Jauquez and he was the steal of the draft. They lost their PG from last year who was a G leaguer the year before. Max Streuss walked because they couldn't afford to pay him. All of the injuries, and they still made the playoffs. This team over achieved. I'd say the only really bad move that this team has made was over paying Duncan Robainson. Miami is still considered a small market team. It's not like Boston, LA, Frisco, or NY where the owner can just throw money at the problem. Hats off to the Heat. They are always in the mix.

I think thats his ceiling and after all the years of trade rumors surrounding him this was his last game as a Heatle. The series proved it. No Jimmy, no Rozier who had won us games down the stretch with late game clutch shots so all Bostons top perimeter defenders were set on Tyler, and he was great to help em win one game like a 6th man can do on occassion but not enuff for a second or to even keep the games reasonable competitive. I think we need to let go of some of our more expensive shooters, such as Herro and Martin, and focus on getting size and scoring. Drafting someone like Edey could be huge, moving Bam to the 4, and allowing for playmaking and still upholding the absolutely incredible defense. By investing in more guards, we are just letting the same thing happen again and again, and the teams who are shifting to larger sizes to control inside the arc are seeing success because of it.

Yes, he saves his energy and strength for the post-season, but that strategy is only going to get riskier. You set yourself up where you're the low seed, having to play more games, and more chances to get injured when you're needed most. Time for the Heat to rebuild. Their front office can not keep expecting an aging Jimmy Butler (who will turn 35 before next season), Bam, and Herro along with other aging vets and young, undrafted players to be something they simply are not. They had two very impressive, unexpected runs to the Finals, but they arguably benefitted from either injuries or the better competition stepping down more than the Heat stepped up; once they reached the Finals, reality set in. They've ended up in the play in the past 2 years due to injuries, bad offense, and "coasting." The better teams in the East are gonna get healthy and try to improve during the off-season, and I don't see what Miami can do to become as good or better than any of them even if they did revamp the roster. They can keep Bam and Herro if they want, but those guys can contribute to winning teams right now, so why not trade them while their value is high? Trade or let go of everybody else, get picks, let Spo go coach another team, and start from scratch.

    Because the Celtics are actually well built, unlike Miami. Miami has to set their long term lineup before they go all in like Boston. White and Holiday will have so much longevity, because of their playstyles and ability to defend. Tatum and Brown are still young, and they're already stars. Porzingis is still surprisingly young, at 28,but with injury issues. He's their only bleak spot on that lineup, and even he is elite. They could realistically run that starting 5 for 5 more years, and still be great. Not to mention, they have excellent role players off their bench. The Celtics are already set. That's why they managed to go all in. They also have no bad contracts. Miami is still scrambling when it comes to contracts and roster. That's why they can't go all in. Plus bad contracts on some players.

    First of all, neither the Nuggets nor the Wolves are as inconsistent as the Celtics. Secondly, the Lakers actually looked competitive for the majority of their series. So did the Suns for the first 3 games until the third quarter and Game 4. Finally, the Lakers and the Suns are both better than the Heat, so it's more shocking that those teams were beaten so decisively.

    Draft Clingan or Edey. Get rid of Mills J Rich Caleb Haywood. Shop Tyler Jamie and a First for a guard upgrade to pair with a good value contract of Terry. Give Jovic a larger role at the 4. Give Jimmy 2 year max deal. Delon, Bryant, Love, Duncan all come back. Fill your backup SF spot with minimums unless you can convince Haywood to sign for very cheap. I think Haywood is a great player if you can keep him. Line up of: Terry/Delon Blank/Duncan Jimmy/Blank Jovic/Love Bam/Edey/Bryant **Other option is to draft a 6’8-6’10 strong athletic forward that can play 3-4 back up.
