He will be racing 6 races in tony stewarts SRX racing.
Someone PLEASE make a documentary with him narrating it if it doesnt already exist
The man who 1st took Joe Gibbs Racing to a Championship. He took what Dale Jarrett started and made it much better. He also laid the ground work for what was to come later with Kyle Busch.

Jarrett and Labonte walked for Joe Gibbs Racing today so today’s armada at JGR could run. I got a feeling that we’re about to see same thing with 23XL. Not out of the gate. JGR didn’t win their first race till 1993 Daytona 500 one year after they had a year under them. 23XL has the resources the cars from JGR. It’s just luck and execution needed which today it’s harder to come by then it looks.

@@introvertedd.x.7788 Tony actually was my childhood hero. I was mostly talking about the lineage of the No. 18 car's drivers in my original post. All though I will say, we don't talk about J.J. Yeley here. That name is forbidden with JGR/JGR fans.

Wish I would’ve watched NASCAR when Bobby was in his prime. Class driver and competitor!

I was lucky enough to, been a fan since I was 11. It’s tough when your favorite driver leaves or retires. You have to pick a new driver or stick with the same number car.

It was a treat back then.. all the races are on youtube probably...so check them out!
Thank you Nascar. Bobby you are a legend!
Loved Joe Gibbs when he was coaching the Redskins, followed him into NASCAR and Bobby was my driver. One of my favorite races was the 2007 Busch race @ Talladega when Bobby passed Tony on the last lap for the win. Class act.
It was a Win Win when Jarrett left Joe Gibbs both Drivers went on to have Hall of Fame careers.
Always thought that was a beautiful looking paint scheme!!!

Same and I never liked green paint schemes but the Interstate Batteries ones worked
Favorite driver for life
I love to hear about technical details of those cars, NASCAR's technical history seems totally inaccessible to the public. More of this, please!
I would love to know where the #5 & #18 cars are when Terry one the Cup and Bobby won the race at Atlanta in 1996. That victory lap with these brothers is the greatest in Nascar history in my opinion.
Super cool. Bobby is one of my all time favorites. My first car was that 95-99 generation Monte Carlo.
The Labonte brothers seem like really awesome dudes
My favorite era in NASCAR and by far my favorite driver. Thanks Bobby!
Thank you Bobby I always enjoy watching you and Terry race
Him talking about reading the spark plugs cracked me up lol
One of my favorite drivers. Sometimes you can catch him on iracing in the morning. He runs arca, xfinity, and sometimes cup. Doesn't talk on the mic though. Pretty dang quick too.
This is my favorite era of nascar
I grew up in the 90s and a Earnhardt fan but I have lots of respect to all of the guys of that era.
So cool to hear Bobby talk about this car. It was one of my favorite growing up!
one of my favorite Drivers
Was my favorite Nascar driver. Got an autograph from Labonte when I was a kid at the monster mile Dover, DE. Saw every race in 2000 when he took the championship.
Miss you and Terry. Cant wait to see you in the SRX series!!!🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯
He was my next favorite driver after the passing of Dale Sr. Such a class act and one of the all time greats. Miss you Bobby 🙏🇺🇸🦅
My favorite driver from my childhood, what a great guy.
I consider myself Bobby's biggest fan, my very first NASCAR race was at Watkins Glen it was the 2000 season he was leading in points when qualifying was rained out so Bobby got the pole I was so excited finished fifth it was a wonderful day. I remember my cousin calling me that day pain I can't believe he's on the pole and it's your first race I'll never forget it.
I saw Bobby win at Atlanta's spring race in 1998 right after the repaving and reconfiguration in 1997 making Atlanta the fastest track at the time. Some drivers could circle the entire track without ever lifting the gas pedal. Bobby was superfast.
Come June he'll be racing in the SRX series
Bobby man your my favorite racer of all time man! Growing up in my house you were expected to only love Dale Earnhardt Sr&Jr don’t get me wrong they are both in my very top 4 or 5! But I grow up with you in this car and I couldn’t get enough of it and hearing your name when you passed people!!!!
Bobby was a favorite back in the day. It was really great to hear his stories and insight. Great video!
Anyone who beats Dale Earnhardt in a straight battle over a year points race deserves respect. The fact that Booby Labonte not only beat Dale Earnhardt in 2000, but with a race to spare and won more races than "The Intimidator," in 2000 and was always running at the end of races that year is a remarkable feat of not only winning out, but consistency as well. The fact that he took Joe Gibbs to his first Owners Title as well means he fully deserves to be in the NASCAR Hall of Fame
Been an 18 fan since nascar 98. Love that scheme. Wish kyle would run it.
This is what we need more of. Maybe my favorite video on the NASCAR channel.
Bobby Labonte is probably the only driver I can think of who won a title in every series he ever raced full time in.
I have always been and will always be a NASCAR fan, but I will never enjoy it as much without Bobby. I have tried to enjoy and cheer for other drivers, but I’m a Bobby fan for life and nobody else comes close.

One of my favorite cars and schemes
Great video! Always liked Bobby. I could watch more of these with him. Awesome job!
Until just recently, I never knew that Bobby won a Busch championship. I’ve always known about his 2000 Cup championship, but the Busch championship puts him in a small group of drivers (those that won both a Busch and a Cup championship). Great driver and great guy!
Mi favorite bobby labonte in Nascar rumble
is it just me or anyone else want to hear the "i got fired from my brothers team" story.

It’s not as juicy as it sounds. Bobby and his dad Bob worked on the crew of Billy Hagan’s team when Terry was the driver. When Terry left Hagan to drive for Junior Johnson, Hagan fired Bob and Bobby. If he hadn’t, Bobby might not have had a driving career.
I always loved his green car
I just bought a number 18 die cast car with the "HULK" paint scheme on the hood, so cool! Glad I went into this Toys and Collectors store and found it, scores!
Awesome job Bobby ! Do a few more of these !
ThankYou for the year’s Bobby. I hope you are finding peace in your retirement.
Still classy. Love ya Bobby, can't wait to see you out on the track in Stuarts all star circuit!
I'm scratching my head wondering how people could dislike this video
I forgot how much I like Bobby Labonte. Funny, smart, handsome, champion.
I Loved him in the 18 Car
I still remember Bobby's #18 being impossible to win against in the PSX version of Nascar '99
Everybody's favorite uncle
Back in the day when I raced RC 1/10, I was always a JG fan and I wanted to paint up some Chevy bodies. I found the sticker sets from the US and got a few sets to save on shipping to Aus. #24 Rainbow, #24 Pepsi and the #18 Interstate were the sets I got. That 18 car always looked so good back in that era. My car was always different because no-one else in Aus painted cars like NASCAR's. Bobby had a hell of a year in 2000.
One of the best to ever do it
I was always a fan of Bobby Labonte. He (and many of the drivers at the time) had something a lot of current drivers don't have...class and viewer friendly personality. When I say that, I mean they know how to talk to fans, they know how to talk to the cameras, they know how to talk to the reporters; you can watch and listen to them all day. Many of the drivers we have now, after a few second on camera, I just wish they'd shut up.
Spring Texas race of 99 or 00 Billy Bobs in FT Worth had Bobby’s car inside the bar that weekend.. I could help myself but to climb inside and I got bounced like a basketball out the door by the bouncers but it was worth every bruise I got hahaha
Those are the best looking cars since the 80s imo
Hey everyone, please like this and maybe NASCAR and Bobby will see this. Hey Bobby! I have your racing suit from your final win at Homestead in 2003. Our good friend Peter Rabbit gave it to me as a kid. I proudly raced in it throughout my teenage years, also sporting the #18 on my cars. Please let me know if I can send it to you to be autographed.

If Kyle Busch would use this paint scheme at least once, I might actually become a fan of his. That other Interstate isn't close enough to Bobby's scheme.
Could never figure out why he didn’t get a great ride after Gibbs.

My question is. If your car and the current 18 car was to do a 30 lap shootout. Who would win? And who would have the faster lap?
