I can't believe your daughter is already three years old! I remember when she was born, and I had already been watching your videos for quite some time. You have become an important part of my life. It's a joy watching your videos. Cheers from Los Angeles!

I still have my old paperback copy of Fischer's 60 memorable games. While he didn't explore Bh5, throughout the book, he gives quite a few alternative lines within the games. Playing through them is indeed a pleasure.

I remember a game from that book in which I'm a l m o s t certain he was playing Geller. Gellar played a move and Fischer comments, "He was smiling as he played this move. Later in the game, he played another move "And was still smiling". Later, Bobby makes a punishing move and remarks, "He thought for a long time after this move. Also, he stopped smiling"!

#suggestion for a quote. Giri said after his game today, “H3 impressed me, I didn’t know the point so I was impressed”. Very funny quote for future use
I was 3/3 today finding moves, but I admit the first one was because patzer sees a check.
halfway through the BF saga just past Palma de Mellorca tourney. So great this drops today.
Would probably feel so good to troll Fischer with the King's gambit and the French Defense 😆
I greatly appreciate your comment about playing with a physical board. It feels different I am a pediatrician and have observed an increase in many behavioral problems in association with over dependence on screens. But NOT among kids who play chess on a physical board
it's so cute that you have a daughter. sending you and your daughter and your wife (or gf) a wonderful day!
Fischer's king could've easily scooted into the corner to safety if needed, and basically removed any potential threats and counter attacks black could've hoped for. Not to mention there were open and semi-open files on the black king, which seemed vulnerable to a queen sac and mobilization of white's rooks en tempo. And of course Fischer's bishop is always worth about 5 points in his games because he seems to be able to magnify its potency in every critical position.
Your command of chess history and tactics is amazing, and very entertaining. Thank you! This is the best chess channel there is.
Love the show keep em coming!!
One of my all time favourite, Bobby Fischer
I saved this video because of the thumbnail alone.
I always love it when agad's passion for chess radiates throughout the whole video, which is like every video.
I couldn't agree with you more that replaying Fischer's games on an actual board is a totally different experience. Thank you for this video.
I could find the first part Bc1, but glad I could find the final blow of the great Bobby Qb5.😊. Thanks for this video.
Continue streaming Agad... Makes us appreciate more of your other videos...
Tks for the game ❤
"But my daughter lost interest in like 10 minutes" lmao nooooo hang in there Antonio, keep the chess board in her sight at all times if you have to! haha
Masterpiece 👏
And it was in this position, upon replaying Fischer's games on a wooden board, that it, "hits different".
13:10 one of the best advices for beginners
Damn you. I thought of bishop check, and pawn f4 (no preference). And though to myself, let's see how I was wrong.
As a man of culture, I always watch Agadmator videos on a board. Wooden no less, the resolution is a bit low but it just hits different.
For the first pause-the-video moment, I saw Bh5 immediately (as everyone did), but I thought, "Patzer sees a check!" and didn't calculate much beyond that. Instead, I buckled down and thought for a few minutes, and I came up with f4. Hooray! I'm Bobby Fischer!
Ayyy. This is the second time ive been able to solve the move! Thought it was too obvious to be correct though! Still counts 😂
Love the vid but the thumbnail is a bit weird. Feels AI which I would prefer to avoid. Switching it up here & there is fine but please don’t go all out AI the thumbnails you had before are great & iconic
I second the motion to set up a physical chess board with actual pieces - as suggested by Agadmator near the end. Yes, today's chess engines are fantastic but in terms of learning and retention, there is a lot to be said for physically making the moves and visualizing in true 3D. . I think that on some level, Agadmator agrees with this or he would not have suggested setting up a chess board etc. (I do own a copy of Bobby's 60 Memorable chess games, and have reviewed most of these games.)
I finally found what Fisher player .. but it was f4 that was not supposed to be played
Love the new quote 😊
At 12:05 - if R-a8, then Fischer can simply take the rook and then capture the knight on C6. Much faster win/checkmate.
@Jonathan-ec9pp
Ай бұрын
Actually, Stockfish says Qa6+ is mate in 13, while Qxc6+ is only a +7 advantage. So, it's also winning, but not faster
@frederickkrewson638
Ай бұрын
+7 is a pretty decent advantage. I'm surprised that after Qxc6+ - there's not a forced mate in less than 13 moves?
@Jonathan-ec9pp
Ай бұрын
@@frederickkrewson638 It was quite surprising for me as well. But it seems that after Qxc6+, black can block with Rb7 and holds a little longer. I mean, not much though. Being -7 down against Fischer is not exactly "holding"

I found the winning move, and even the pawn capture made possible by the rook pinning the other pawn, but I definetly wouldn't be able to convert it into a win
Wow, I found the move that Fischer didn't play. That surely means I'm grandmaster material :D
Nice analization..sometime i said to bobby fisher.could you help me.which is the best move 😊..
I found the bishop move because it was the winning move discussed in the previous position.
Patted myself on the back for finding both the moves, well the first one took me longer(Bc1)
I know Agad has a fascination for and great respect of Mikhail Tal. Agad thinks Tal was the greatest chess master of all time. I think Bobby Fisher was the greatest chess master of all time. This is one of those rare moments where both of us are right!
Good game 🙂
The pawn goes to g4 and then becomes a bishop and then captures on e6
yay, pre-computer chess 🎉😭
Kinda feel weird that you can still met people that live through ww2. You read them from history book, even your grandpa may read them on history book, yet they still alive
That thumbnail shows Fischer as the humpback of Notre Dame.
Could you please recommend a wooden board + pieces? There are so many it's difficult to choose.

11:38 "nothing more to be done here" but 30. ... Nb4 keeps White's queen off a6. (Probably just delaying the inevitable.)
Well, for the last pause-the-video moment, I was so sure about my win that I would have blundered my queen. After Kxb2 and Rfb1+, black can block with the knight. It's always the moves back with the knight. Tricky bastards.
3yr old and lasted 10 minutes...that's pretty good.
Hey! I also have a three year old daughter :) We are about to go see fireworks with her for the first time, wish us luck!
Agadmator suggests I am PROBABLY watching this on a screen. Just checking in... How many NON-GMs are listening on podcast, and just keeping track of the many board positions in their head? And for those NOT watching on a screen. Pray Tell? What type of setup are you using? Is there an agadmator Magic Chess board that moves the pieces and plays the audio as it does so? (Seriously, I might buy one!)
No one else has the dare to admit 2024 were the early day 😂
I found bishop to H5, but to be honest, i could not calculate it why it´s the winning move, so i thought it´s not the move
How would we watch this if it was not on a screen?😮
6:59 feel free to pause the video moment: I am happy I found the move Fischer did not🎉
My four year old watches me watch your videos. And I’ve got the board out with her too. She is stoked to learn, but does lose interest quick. Won’t be long though.
Funny, how in my games, being up a piece doesn't necessarily mean I'll win the game. 😆
I found correctly Bishop to h5
French defense is baffling for a mere chess player coz there is not a single piece attacking white king till move 12

@@yggdrasil9039 The term is 'Patser', which can refer to amateurs at chess. The meaning of the quote translates to 'foolish players see a check and give a check without thinking things through'. The irony, as stated in the video, is that the check was indeed the best move.

Why wouldn't Klaus force a queen trade with queen b4?
@michaelmassaro4375

It was Fischer’s move at that point he had checked the king with his Bf4+ the Black king went to b7 the white Queen than went to b5 so Klaus did not get the opportunity to intercede with Qb4 challenging Fischer’s Queen and Fischer would not have had to trade at that point

Queen to a6#
I hate the French also. I use to play the Advance with Nc3, g4 with some success but French players love closed games and the possibility of countering. So I started playing the exchange variation with an open game. It seems to do fine as it is not the positions that black was hoping for when he played 1...e6.
After watching documentary - why was he so stigmatised by his own country? Nakon gledanja dokumentarca - zašto su ga toliko naružili i govori najgore o njemu kao ličnosti? Da li je stvarno bio takav? Ako imaš neku referencu detaljniju, bio bih zahvalan na odgovoru :)
I always feel like a dunce when he says, I'm sure you guys found the winning move.....😕
