I like how hondo says jango is honorable. From jangos perspective and possibly those who knew him well, he generally tried to do the right thing, probably stemming from his military days. In the comics and extended universe he will do what it takes to get the job done and honoring the orginal contract. While also stepping in when morally he feels he should. Good example is the idol story line from the comics. Jango siding with dooku could be seen as a mutual distrust of the jedi which was legitimate from both their point of view. Like how the CIS were kinda the good guys. Jango had morality in his profession. Just a rant when people see jango as evil.

Exactly. Ever since he was introduced in Episode 2, he became 1 of my favorite characters in the franchise, and after learning more about him in the comics, game and books… he earned his spot as my #1 Favorite with Kenobi at #2. He was a good man with honor and morals as he demonstrated it when he asked Smooty on Oovo IV if he wanted to escape the asteroid prison with him. Temura M. WAS JUST PERFECT for his character…

The thing I never understood (or never knew the answer to) was that Jango Fett was the template for the entire clone army. Then the moment Obi-Wan shows up, he immediately heads for Geonosis to side with the Separatist. And this didn't raise any red flags to the Republic or the Jedi Council.

I think the general explanation is that Bounty hunters are bounty hunters. They go wherever the profit is, whether it's good or bad. The Jedi were very much aware of Jango's status as mercenary and could have assumed he was making his profit from the war by aiding both sides, not necessarily choosing an alignment. This would mean although he's not the republic's Ally, he's also not exactly their enemy. It's not exactly the best of reasons to a lot of people, but still the reason

My guess is the Jedi had no choice. The Senate approved use of the clone army, and ordered the Jedi to lead them. With no standing military, and war on the horizon, The Republic needed to use what they could. Besides, many Jedi came to be close friends with their clone troopers. The Jedi were the only ones who treated them like people.

that is not all, Jango told Obi-Wan that he got the contract from a man named Tyrannus and later on Obi-Wan and Anakin learns on Pyke that Dooku is Tyrannus.. and they still did not investigate the clone army.. hell fives even warned them and they did nothing.. the jedi council's arrogance (especially Yoda's) was the doom of the jedi order

The birth of Boba Fett started off with Star Wars: Bounty Hunter video game starring his father Jango Fett showing how he become the clone template and wants a one unmodified clone for himself especially defeating Montross the man who killed his adoptive father Jaster Mereel and defeating Komari Vosa the former pupil of Count Dooku and finally Dooku and Jango made a deal together.
