Let's be real he did get screwed over by luck, had his jetpack not been damaged and he was able to fly he might have gotten clear and be a bit more of a threat one on one. He is the best because he knows enough and uses the best equipment he can. Losing a major part of his tactical arsenal is why he died so quick and easily. You can see he was trying to jump jet away as he was back stepping. Luck did not allow it for him and so he died.

Mace Windu is honestly savage, I love how Dooku reacted, like: "oh shit". He was no ordinary jedi and probably half a sith himself.

Mace Windu was the only Jedi who got permission from the Jedi Council to use the seventh lightsaber form which relies on harnessing anger to utilize it. Since anger was such a an easy path to the dark side, the seventh form was banned by the jedi. However Mace had such a clear understanding of right and wrong, and such an intense dislike for evil and the dark side, he was able to keep himself from tipping over to the dark side when utilizing his anger for the seventh form. So yeah, Mace was the one jedi a sith did not want to face.

1:34 I love that Dooku gets disturbed at this moment, perhaps because of the sheer horror of the beheading, Mace's strength, or that his troops are going to lose the fight. He has fears and emotions and that makes him a very compelling villain.

I feel sorry for Boba in losing his father, but I have no sympathy for Jango because here he was an idiot. He had a safe vantage point next to Dooku in the stands, yet he willingly surrendered that to jump head-on into a raging battlefield and take on the single most skilled swordsman of the Jedi Order.

Why no one questions the most stupid move when Jango jumped for the lightsaber instead of just outright shooting Windu in the face while he is defenseless. That kind of stupidity should never be forgiven. Why would you ever want to do that, man? Jedi lost his only way of defense AND offense for like 2-3 seconds, you don't get that many chances to get such an easy kill on him. Stupid Jango or stupid screenwriter?

I really like that Mace doesn’t block the bolts, but instead bats them away or down from him. Just a style choice I’d imagine but I like the idea that he’s battle-conscious enough to not want to ricochet them into nearby Jedi or something.

Jango known as one of the best Mandalorians in the Star Wars universe. And that time he was the strongest bounty Hunter in the galaxy (more than boba and din). Now you can understand how strong Mace Windu is. The only reason Anakin was able to beat him because he wasn't expecting the attack, otherwise no one would have been able to stand up to him in a fight.

Mace Windu never forgave himself for not taking out Dooku here. Even if it took his life he thought it would have been worth it to save all the lives that would be lost

As cold as Dooku was, he gave that “dude seriously” expression at Windu after that 🤣

A lot of people also miss the fact that Jango’s jet pack was damaged from being trampled by the beast. That was ultimately what killed him, otherwise it would be a very cat and mouse kind of fight. The first time I saw this fight, I never noticed that he tried activating his jets long before Mace made the final swing. It just looked like he was standing still like a battle droid would.

Oh for sure he's pissed. He delivered amidala, and is pursuer (obiwan) was also captured, he should have left. There's no reason for Jango (as a bounty hunter) to be there. But maybe it's similar to boba, hanging out at Jabbas even though the deed was done. But boba frequently took Jabba bounties, can't say the same about Jango and dooku.

I know jangos jetpack was damaged but before mace chopped his head off he cut Fett's pistol hand off. His jetpack cuts off as soon as his hand gets cut off. Never noticed that before. So many details when you actually break down a scene.

Also windu probably used the force to draw the beast to him knowing that it would draw in fett, he probably forsaw it, and then after he got away from it and he stood up purposefully, he already forsaw how the beast was going to help him destroy fett by damaging his pack, or at least he noticed when it happened, yet fett did not notice, and then he saw the sequence of how he would destroy fett before he did it. *Because he is a top Jedi master I think you can assume these things.

lol at 1:34 the droid turned like he was as shocked as Dooku to see ol' boy lose his head.

I love the fact that right before he loses his head you can see his jetpack attempt to activate but malfunctions. Imagine where this fight would have been if any of Jango's equipment hadn't been damaged up to that point.

Funfact @ 1:30 It has now taken me 22 years to realize that the second shadow is the head flying out of the helmet. It always bothered me that the helmet looked as if it was empty upon impact. Super cleverly solved the problem regarding child protection.

Yeah, Mace's decapitation of Jango is wicked when you remember Boba was literally watching it all happen. Pretty sure in the Lego version he even picked up Jangos dome in the helmet and hugged it 😅 like damn

At 1:38 Windu looks down at Jango and seems disappointed that he killed him (or perhaps that Boba witnessed it) it’s really neat detail in light of his later regret in the clone wars for turning Boba down a path of vengeance.

That reminds me of an old MAD cartoon... Boba tries on his dad's helmet, but he can't get it on. So he shakes it, and Jango's head falls out of it. Then he puts it on.

Never notice this but this is probably the only clean beheading we see live action. Most star wars now cuts away b4 the beheading

It seems to be poorly known that Dooku reacts like that because in the original shoot Mace was far more savage. He cut off Jango's wrist, his other arm, sliced his leg, then decapitated him. This is why Dooku appears to be in shock, but they cut the original death scene.

Jango looked stumped on how to fight Mace.

Remember when Jango fought off Jedi with hand-to-hand combat and snowballs in the comic Jango Fett: Open Seasons?

Well, boba was a clone for jango. During the making of the clones, he requested a clone with no barriers for himself. So it's basically him.

Not many people knew this, but Mace Windu's purple light saber's hilt has the messaged inscribed 'Bad Mutha Fucker'

i think Mace accidentally killed him because of the jetpack. Had he wanted to kill him, he could have deflected the shots straight back sooner. he could have cut his arm off, but he cuts the blaster in half with precision. I think he sensed that Jango wanted to fly away and aimed for his legs. but since the jet pack didn't work, the strike landed a little higher. Mace also looks pretty puzzled afterwards

about if windu deflected the shots, Jango's armor is made from beskar (other alloys before the retcon) so that wouldn´t have killed him

hahahah no. just no... there was no accident. Mace Windu one of the strongest if not the strongest duelist at the time (shown by him defeating Palpatine and confirmed by George Lucas himself) wouldn't have swung and accidentally cut off Jangos head. Nah lolol it was intentional Mace was like shoot fire at me again, oh wait you can't you don't have a head

There is a part on the Jedi Code that says that once a Jedi ignites his lightsaber he must be prepared to kill someone in self-defense. So yeah due to Jango being the one who attacked first Windu was ready to Kill even though he was avoiding this until the very end

I believe Mace definitely wanted to kill him. Jango was dangerous, he already killed Coleman Trebor who was a council member. He could have killed more Jedi if Mace didn't stop him.

Man there is no way I can take this scene seriously with Samuel L running around with a saber doing his low creepy run 😂😂😂😂
