I liked the Cad Bane stuff and Boba/Mando teaming up to mow down a ton of goons. Watching that one dude get blasted to hell repeatedly as he fell was genuinely pretty funny. everything else... pretty clumsy.

I personally enjoy the Book of Boba Fett version because it felt appropriate for the story they were telling, Boba was trying to put his bounty hunting days behind him and become a good leader for Tatooine after spending years living amongst the Tuskens, he wasn’t able to beat Cad with the symbol of his old life because he wasn’t the same cold blooded killer he was when he was younger, but he managed to beat Cad with a weapon with deep cultural and spiritual connections to his adoptive home, also it means his training in Melee with the Gaffee Stick paid off.

It’s not a different version. Those events happened earlier when Bobo was young. That’s how he got the dent in his helmet. Cad was injured but not killed.

I like Cad Bane. He's not dead though. If the story calls for it, he'll be back. Personally, I would love to have heard him say, "Well, hello little lady" and then tip his hat when Shan came out. So, he's not dead. He and Ahsoka have to meet again so that he can say that to her. Fan service I know but, I always love seeing him do that to Ahsoka.

They meet each other again in my fanfic's. Needless to say, just like Boba, Ahsoka is not little anymore. And no, there is no cringe, and some romance is kept to a minimum. It has a plot. They are basically about Ahsoka finding a force-sensitive teenage girl on Earth, and the pair's adventures in fighting crime and restoring balance to the Force along with their friends.

I actually really like that their duel wasn't this crazy flying around shootout, both are old men by now and long past their prime, Boba's just the one who's willing to try to leave the hunting life behind, he's got a retirement plan beyond "one last blaze of glory".

Lore wise, Boba isn't that old, Boba was like 36 at the end of the original trilogy. I don't know when this serie takes place but he can't be very older than like 45 or something

excapet only bane is old, boba is younger than jango when the latter died. and look how jango went out, going straight 1v1 against fckn windu (and obi-wan before that). its just bad writing, dont try to find excuses

Their final standoff would have been enchanced by flash backs to the unreleased Boba and Cad original duel

They really need to finish those unaired clone wars episodes so we can get the shoot out between Boba and Bane in all its glory. Plus there’s some really cool moments in them like Anakin picking up a blaster and going full bounty hunter on some droid.

The Galaxy hasn’t been this tense since the rematch between Obi-wan and Maul

I’m glad that the final episode of the Season and possibly series premiered on my 21st birthday.

The people complaining that Boba was too soft and forgiving completely missed the point of his character development. His experience in the sarlacc and with the Tuskens gave him a new perspective on life. So he isn't just another gun for hire, and him killing Cad Bane was him killing that part of his life.

I think that's what they were going for, the problem is, his character didn't develop with the Tuskens. When he got there he was already selfless (shown when he tried to help the guy who was tied next to him). He showed very few signs of ruthlessness, selfishness or difficulty to trust others throughout all the story. Unfortunately I think those scenes did not develop his character at all. Also, Cad Bane did serve as a "your past is coming back for you" theme, but with only an episode of screen time it also failed to really achieve that, it should've been the main theme of the show.

Sometimes i wonder how well does Boba and Bane know each other, I mean of course all his life since Jango's death he has been hanging around with a bunch of Bounty Hunters like Aurra Sing and all while Cad Bane has always teamed up and called the shots with other bounty hunters, But it feels like they knew each other better and personally.

i think bane is not dead.

The fact that they so blatantly ackowledged the events of the unfinished Clone Wars arc that saw Cad training Boba gives me hope that we might one day see it fully animated as maybe some kind of Disney+ exclusive Clone Wars movie or something

I enjoy the fact that people forget characters don’t die easy in Star Wars even in the unreleased duel he was “killed” when bobba shot him in the head and he gave the iconic dent on his helmet

the dent could not be made by Bane's gun as it was already confirmed that the armor is Beskar.. Both Mando and Boba was hit by countless times now and none of the had any dent on their armor + the beskar spear survived an orbital bombardment without a scratch.. hell the dark trooper tried to crush Mando's helmet or that droid tried to crush him in this ep and his beskar still doesn't have any dent.. so Boba could not get that dent from Bane in canon

The duel did happen and you can see that cad bane got shot in it, because he has a metal plate on his head from the injury he got then.

Cad Bane is such a fan fiction character. Too cool for school.

Negotiations were short, but man you could cut the tension with a knife in that exchange.

I was listening to the MGS4 main theme during the final duel. As much as I adore Cad Bane to bits, this is Boba's city, and its people need him.

I was hoping they filmed partial flashbacks of the animatic in life action at least for a few minutes for anyone who doesn’t know their history. But I like the unspoken implication it still happened and Cad Bane is sore because it didn’t really determine who was better if they’re both still alive.

Cad Bane is 🐐 He will be BACK.

I have a slight suspicion that Bane didn't like the fact that the Pykes killed the tuskens as Boba was his student trained after Jango helped teach Bane about being a bounty hunter. When Bane revealed about the Pykes betrayal he did so out of a mercy for Boba, I feel like he wasn't trying to get arise so much as let Boba know the truth. That being said he would still kill Boba just because it's Bane, but I don't think Bane liked the fact they did that then lied about it. Bane prefers total honesty, he might be a ruthless killer but he is still honorable in the ways he goes about it.

He has a way difference accent… in the live action he has a bit of Chicago gangster. In the clone wars he sounds way more ambiguous.

While the Book of Boba Fett left some things be desired, I liked their standoff and duel.

I wish Cad Bane and Boba Fett’s stand off could’ve gone something like this: Boba Fett: “Cad Bane.” Cad Bane: “Boba Fett.” Boba Fett: “It’s been a long time. I’m surprised to see you’re still alive.” Cad Bane: “I’m surprised to see you pretending to be something you’re not.” Boba Fett: “After all this time Bane.. I’m disappointed in you. You’re considered a legend across the galaxy. You’ve killed countless warriors and mercenaries. Yet despite your skills, your respect, and your reputation. In your old age you’re still just a pawn to anyone with a pretty penny in their pocket. Cad Bane: “That’s the life of a bounty hunter.” Boba Fett: “You could’ve been so much more. I was once a bounty hunter. Look at me now.” Cad Bane: “Yes, look at you. A leader who sits upon a broken throne and who’s about to be shot down where he stands.”

Personally I'd like to see boba fetts talk to Leia about (The immorality of sex before marriage and the pain in his knees that seem to be getting worse lately) made canon again its just the best bit of deep boba fett lore there is.

Kinda stupid duel. Boba and Mandalorians in general are warriors and commando like but not gun slinger speed draw specialist like Bane. Then, why would Bane duel a guy covered in blaster proof armor when he has none?

I think Cad Bane will be back because it is too soon for him

Turning Boba into a sappy "benevolent kingpin" was just another OT character takedown. Plus they killed off one of the coolest characters George didn't create in one episode. Great job, Disney. You are complete Aids for creative Star Wars.

yeah this finale would have been cool if they introduced live action cad bane earlier in this show and not just right before the finale -.- and if they gave him some purpose in this plot thats related to Boba. He could have been the one who wiped out the Tusken village for the Pyke Syndicate. This would have been a great reason for the final stand off. but no....

thats becasue dave filoni forgot his own storyline....boba and bane were equally fast (and boba was a mere teenager at that fight) and shot each other at the very same time. its a bad retcon, nothing more

I wonder if Bane's species lives longer than Humans. He was an adult when Boba was just a kid.

Actually they don't live as long as humans the oldest they get is about 60 maybe 70. Right now he's about the equivalent of a human who lived to be a hundred.

Cad Bane doesn't have any personal matters with Ahsoka nor anyone else... after all he's much older now than he was in clone wars so i think that even jedi could kill him here. Jango Fett was Bane's teacher, and later Cad Bane was mentor to Boba Fett... Boba knows Cad Bane and his moves better than anyone... i don't see your point... there is every single reason for Boba to kill Bane especially cuz he works for his enemies that killed his friends (tuskens)... why do you think that Ahsoka and Bane should have a duel? Bane is extremely old anyway, and Ahsoka is much stronger than she was in clone wars... while Boba and Cad are both just normal people without super speed and powers and they are equal with their skills... also deleted duel of them in clone wars happened and so they keep grudge for each other from that duel too...
