I read the comments below and I feel so young. Just turned 58. 1981 my mom made me go on a business trip with her and I was stuck in the hotel while she was in meetings. The second day I looked out the window and there was a tour bus there that had along the side Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band. I was a fan and I went out there and Bob was getting off the bus and we talked for 10-15 minutes. He gave me a tour of the bus and I got his autograph. He was so nice and kind to a teenager. I never thanked him. I was in awe and I forgot. I have loved his music from the 70's until now. Thank you sir for being to kind to me.

Love this song, I feel like sometimes I’m running against the wind, but slowing down now, I’m 84 years old, it’s about time i guess. Just so depressed. Loved this movie, it really about life & how hard it is sometime. Today is May 9. 2024. Love you all and Pray GOD can forgive me of all of my sins. I was a late in life learning about our LORD JESUS & learning how wonderful he is, giving his life , shedding his blood for all our sins, I was a horrible person and just pray I can help someone come to CHRIST before it’s too late. I was in Vietnam serving with the Mobile Riverine Force, 1968-‘69. It was during the TET offensive. I was 19. I still remember the many that died there. I came back to the World and went to college. It was so hard as I had to face demons alone. Somehow I managed to get my life together. This song epitomizes much of my life. God be with those that never came back.

I grew up in the 70’s too, it was not happier and freer then. We had to protest the phony war against Vietnam, as a 17 yr old I was worried about being conscripted to fight against an unknown “enemy” that is now a popular tourist attraction. All because of the conservatives in govt in Australia. We voted against the conservatives after decades of rule and the new party brought our troops home and saved my arse. Conservatives are against freedom.

My comment is minutes old. I was in a M.A.S.H.-like unit attached to a larger medical unit in a U.S. Army Hospital in California during Vietnam.

I surely miss the 70's the best rock and roll, folk, and country music. They don't make them like they use to.

I loved this song, and Bob, in my 20's and still love them both today in my 60's❤

I live in a border city in Ontario across the river from Detroit, Michigan and I saw Bob Seger 3 times when he played at local high schools in the 1970’s. Unforgettable moment was when he came off the stage and walked down the stairs right passed me.

I was born in 1962. When I was a toddler my mother give me a very tiny radio. I followed the world through songs.

I begin to cry when I listen to the 60’a and 70’s music. It’s such a mixture of feelings and emotions, but most importantly, it’s wonderful memories in my heart that will be with me until I depart this world. Love this music

I can truly say I’ve lived through the greatest era of rock and roll music. I turn 78 soon so I’ve enjoyed great music from the late 50’s through the late eighties. This song is a real favorite.

Bob Seger is one of the greatest songwriters of all time!!!!!!

At over 70 this song is a story of the lives of many of us who lived series of hardships.

I joined a carnival at 16 years old from Indiana, played this song and many of his hits while running the rides on the midway. Finally found myself, retired from the Army with 22 years, then just retired again TODAY from the Federal Government as a Federal Law Enforcement officer with an additional 18 years. Now I'll just jump on my Harley and run against the wind once more..

I can relate to this and I'm 47, just remember in 81 listening to this classic on my older brother's Sammy record player as it was yesterday. Seger to me along with Billy Joel, The Eagles & Jackson Browne wrote probably some of the best American rock music in the 70/80's.

Sorry for loss. My wife of 47 passed at 67 from pancreatic cancer. Terrible disease. Miss her so..

I just never ever get tired of listening to that piano. So elegant and powerful. Like on many other Bob Seger songs.

Bob Seger has been kickin it since the 60’s. Loved all his music.

A great song, a great video, and like so many of us, this could be me. Only more so. At 72, I'm still jogging against the wind, a slow slog till the end. Nothing has ever come close to easy for me..Never will, I guess.

I'm someone else who is 71 and I will never stop listening to the songs who became more than a song I liked. They became friends that took me to a better/stronger place where I NEVER, EVER felt left out!!! Made many new friends from songs....now I have a lot of friends! 🌺🌺

I first played this song on the radio in the 1970s on WIOQ in Philadelphia, and I didn’t realize at the time that I was actually living those lyrics. Fortunately, after I got out of the radio business, I trusted in Christ as my savior in 1993, and ever since then I’ve been running with the wind at my back. Thank you Bob, for the music.

Thanks Bob and the band. Some of the best lyrics ever written. Just timeless.

It’s just amazing to me how such a song can define one’s life. I feel like Bob Seger somehow was in touch with what my entire life has been like.

I agree with the other commenters - the Forrest Gump running across the nation act is the perfect clip to go with this song, because both the song and Forrest's run were about putting the past behind you and moving on.

As I listen to this song I think back ti 1980 and my first baby. He was stillborn. The father was my first love, I found out He passed away from cancer, I am 64 now, We are still running against the wind,

A timeless classic. No words could ever describe this nostalgic feeling we had /have listening to this song. The Golden Oldies.

One of the greatest songs ever. Brings back memories, lots of memories.

Hang in there buddy. We all carry our scars, it comes with the territory. A lot of us are searching for shelter again and again, against the wind. A little something against the wind.

I’m 57 now. I’ve covered the late 70’s, the 80’s, and the 90’s. Yep, great music. Many pieces has put a stamp in my life. I am forever grateful. This song, however, seems to be art imitating life. My life.

Great music never dies, the 70s is just like yesterday.

My brother was a student at East Detroit High School and a part of the school's audio and visual department. In order to raise money for newer equipment, they decided to have a concert at the school with a local performer, Bob Seger. The concert didn't go as planned as only a few hundred tickets were sold for what they had hoped to be a two-thousand-seat packed house. Two weeks later, Against the Wind was released and being played on-air around the country. The ten dollars tickets at the High School would be fifty-dollar tickets at future Bob Seger concerts!

Oh, who put these together to make me cry so hard!? Beautiful. I loved this song and Bob Seger so much. My life was this music and now I have grandchildren and where did it go? I can't stop crying over this beautiful music that I grew up with. Xx

A long time passing 74 years, one heart operation that didn't quite work.. Family and friends gone. That old wind gets stronger every day...

I was 20 years old when this album came out. I quickly learned this song on guitar and was requested to play it at every party I was at. Such good times. 42 years later I’m still playing and singing it on guitar. Thank you for the music Bob Seger. Let the cowboys ride!

It's awesome that the eagles did the background harmonies with Bob. My two favorite bands.

I remember riding with my dad in an old Kenworth K 100 truck traveling Listening to Bob Seger And all kinds of other good music. I’m 41 now and he’s been gone for going on 2 years damn I’d give anything to relive those moments again and for him share those moments with his twin granddaughters like he did with me. Damn time flys.

Bob was a phenomenal genius of music.

Amazing how we aged with Bob. Time flys. He's still a great. At time winds away, please all come to Jesus. You don't need a church. You need Jesus.
