OHHH MY GOSH LITTLE NICKY I LOVE YOUR MOVIE

I used to come home from school and turn on PBS to watch Bob and fall asleep. This was long before the ASMR craze and I certainly didn’t have a name for the hypnotic coma I fell in to when I watched him paint. I found myself falling under the same spell when I was in grade school and our teachers would write on the chalkboard (YES, chalkboard 😆) or I’d hear the sound of pencil-writing (which was most of the time!).

I listen to him every night, his voice and the painting/ knife work calms me down and I fall asleep within 15 min or less.. love him

One of the hardest paintings of Bob Ross to create.

I could just smell the paint through the screen and I love it.

The most incredible part is the simplicity of his style. Of course complex techniques can generate detailed paintings. On the other hand his paintings are amazingly detailed using simple and easy to understand techniques.

@@love_jazmine7174 The lymphatic system is the body's disease-fighting network. It includes the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus gland, and bone marrow. Basically his body wasn’t fighting back like it needed to and it couldn’t take it anymore so he got real sick

Best part of my day is getting home from work and unwinding with these videos. So much peace and positivity and it even extends to the comments, a rarity for KZread.

Bob Ross is my "Messiah of Calm"! I'd take every class he taught if Education had been his profession!-Michael McClary, Professor of Trumpet 🎺 (ret.) Georgia Perimeter College and GSU

He is a soft spoken painter, genius who will always be remembered for his tranquil ,artistic painting style.

Why do I find this more relaxing than normal asmr? I love it though

@@xaero96 It definitely wasn't intentional, I'm pretty sure Bob Ross even responded to people saying that it helps them sleep listening to his show and apparently he didn't get it. He used a softer voice yes but it was because he didn't want to raise his voice ever again since he was a Drill Sargent in the past.

Probably because it’s less intentional, more casual. Personal attention is nice, but sometimes it’s nice just to feel like you’re around a scene or watching it. There are loads of playlists dedicated to unintentional ASMR in movies, you should check some out.

I wouldn’t be able to sleep and I would switch channels and around 11/12 am i would see this his voice and the noises of the brushes would make me fall asleep it was the best

Oh I llllooooove this painting

I’ve even watching Ross for 30 years. I remember running to get my paints out to paint with him. I’m an Artist, and I just don’t have it, he is so talented that 2 inch brush he paints trees with and water and it’s like magic how good his pictures come out , beautiful. If you have never seen him watch him for a minute, he’s a genius. Still can’t paint., I sketch and use charcoal. I wish I could do what he does.

I like watching other people drawing

The fact he had Lymphoma and was still so happy and positive is an inspiration to a lot of people I know especially my art teacher

Bob Ross learned to paint Alla prima from Bill Alexander. Both have passed away. Both were excellent artists. Amazing how many people they encouraged to pick up a paint brush. Very inspiring.
