I used to come home from school every day in middle school (6-8th grade), and I got home just in time for the 2 episodes on - I forget the channel, anyway I would grab a snack and drink and put it on and i couldn’t believe how fully invested I was in… not to mention the sense of calm and relaxed from listening to him speak… after a while, I’d come home from school and I would take a about a 45 minute nap. FFD 16 or so years and I find myself putting the series on when my insomnia is really… like for instance right now, it’s about 1:49am on January 17th, 2024 - and I’ve had it on for about 2 episodes… was just about to fall asleep and my husbands snores ruined the whole entire vibe lol… I’ll just smoke a cig now and go back to a few more episodes of this beloved, saint of a man - helping ease the noise in my mind and get me to fall asleep 🤍❤

I’m not sure which happy little cloud Bob Ross is currently painting on, but I am very thankful for his soothing voice on this New Year’s Eve. My poor, terrified dog was shaking with fear over the fireworks. I tried everything to calm her, including every dog calming video on KZread. As a last resort I clicked on this video. My fur baby started watching it and listening to Bob. She laid down with her face in front of my iPad and watched Bob paint. She didn’t try to hide or even stand up when the big fireworks went off and eventually she went sound asleep. Thank you Bob wherever you are for helping me soothe my little pupper🐾💕🐾

One thing I have always loved about these videos is how Ross talks to you not the audience as a collective so it sounds like he's having a conversation with you and not an audience as a whole.

Me and my wife drove to CA from NC last year. She said she would try to stay awake when we got to the deserts, and I told her, "the desert has its own beauty". She had never been west of the Mississippi river, but I have. When we got to AZ, she was absolutely amazed. And the same when we got to New Mexico. She was excited when she saw a mesa for the first time. I was wrong, I just remembered we lived in Texas for 3 years, but we didn't travel much then.

Should try it. Look out, tho. You want the thinner without fumes, not the old stuff in the garage, if you're painting inside. Trust me on this one. It'll smell up the entire apartment building. Also, Blick's has a jar with a spring in it, put it in there to keep the junk off your brushes. The thinner can be eventually filtered clean witn coffee filters. DON'T dump it down the drain. You can re-use it several times, it's awful for the environment and again, you'll truly wish you didn't...plus, it's very flammable (the fumes are). It'll strip the paint right off your Bob Ross brushes (true).
