Enjoyed watching Bill Alexander in the late 70's, 80's, mesmorized by the beauty created in 30 minutes, now for the first time , seeing Bob Ross's, ' A walk in the woods' ! What a treat! The fact that I still watch his episodes in 2024, is a testament to his charisma while capturing the beauty that can be found in nature and within our hearts!

I'm pleased to see so many positive comments here about Bob Ross. I was a Bob Ross Certified Instructor for 20 years, and I taught thousands of people to paint with his technique. Bob Ross gave a wonderful gift to the world by encouraging people to do something they never thought they could do. As an instructor, it was gratifying to see so many of my students thrilled with their paintings. There are few people in the world who could motivate others the way that Bob Ross did. RIP, Bob.

I boght a Quest 2 a few months ago. I downloaded ''Painting VR'', so i can paint just like Bob does in every episode. I didn't know what to do. Then i remembered about him and now every day after work i turn on my VR and start painting or at least, try to finish my first one. I always painted some stuff on PC, but using my hands is something very different.

Thank you for your two decades of inspiring others the same way Mr. Ross did.
Bill Alexander loved to say that Bob never gave him credit for teaching him this painting method, but here we see proof positive that allegation is not true at all...5:19 into the very first episode, he clearly gives Bill full credit & acknowledgement...Bill must not have watched the show...I think I'm gonna get my paints back out & start with this episode & start working through the whole series...just see how far I can get...

Mouse Arts I think that highlights an issue with his feelings of himself. Often in my darkest hours I tended to resent the truly good people of the world. When I was bitter and wasting my days with my multiple bad habits I would find myself projecting my insecurities, my fears, my pain etc. onto those who were in reality simply better, more responsible people. I know many others have this habit too. Thankfully I no longer have this resentment even when my depression comes and goes. Next time he says something like that, ask him if everything is ok

He painted to show that you can make beautiful things- from anything, including mistakes. Try listening to him, and think of your life as the painting, use the painting as a metaphor for your life, and Bob Ross will blow your mind on so many levels. Nothing has to be a mistake, there’s always something beautiful life has to offer if you just…let it happen and follow your heart. Bob Ross always has me bawling 😭
When my sister and I were fighting, my father used to put Bob Ross on the TV. We were mesmerized by his paintings and calmed down by his voice 😊 Great memories

I can't imagine a more fitting tribute to the legacy of a man who really did just want to teach the whole world to be able to paint and express themselves. Added to that, "We dont make mistakes. We have 'Happy Accidents'". David Stanley - That is so true in what you said. I can draw almost anything on paper with a pincel, but paintings like he does, it's a bit different and a little harder. But I realized that the more I paint, the better I became. So I am a little better than before.
I started watching bob when i was very young. I have always loved him. He is truly talented and I love how he makes you feel. I thank God for making Bob Ross.❤❤❤❤❤
This painting will forever mean something to me. I was 6 years old and it came on the day after my dads funeral. I was home from school due to grief and also a horrible sickness. We only got three channels. One was public television. It’s been 38 years and I still vividly remember this episode.

I watched Joy for decades on PBS; today (2-17-22) was the first time I ever saw this very first episode, on KZread. Back to the very basics... It makes me really want to attempt painting, tho' I've spent my entire life with no artistic ability. Frustrating, when I've always had an artistic soul. I work with color and designs in quilting. It's satisfying, but it's not a Walk in the Woods! 😺

Wow amazing. İ could imagine how soothing watching this might have felt at such a grief full time.
I absolutely love how this series progresses - not only in sound and video quality (you can even hear voices and cars!) but also in his demeanor. Sometimes he looks offscreen like he’a reading something; he doesn’t stutter, but he hesitates and acts professionally. His technique with the brush is even robotic and not as refined as it is later on. You can hear sometimes his emotions get through that rigid wall that is his first time broadcasting himself. It really is beautiful how he turned from this awkward man to the quirky, graceful man we got to see. Rest in peace, Bob Ross, and thank you for everything you ever did for us.
