We all knew her as Sharon Martin in high school. After high school her name was changed to Sharon Marley. Bob Marley died in 1981. She left high school at Alpha Academy in 1983 and married soon after.

I saw the movie opening day and very much enjoyed the film. It focused on the most challenging period of his life with flashbacks to his childhood. I have a greater appreciation for the album Exodus and the meaning of the song lyrics. This film was created well. I left the theater feeling a greater appreciation for the Marley Family.

Yes the day after it came out. At first, I was turned off that Kingsley looks nothing like Bob and that other lady looks nothing like Rita but I guess that is minor in the scheme of things. those were big boots to fill! And the fact they could not find a real restaurant was real locs. Kind of bothered me….. and not to be able to find a Jamaican……. But w that being said,”it was good”,but I think a lot of ppl who do knot know a lot about Bob,reggae and Rasta will miss out on a lot! They will vibe w the music and rightfully so. But I think ppl will like it because of the “mainstream” songs that most everybody knows,and that he smokes a lot of herb……… I think ppl will think it’s a good movie simply because of that alone……….the story…the legend is much bigger that that! I hope they digger deeper! I thought the movie was a bit scattered, and I don’t think it’s worthy of an award imho. But I’m glad that I went and saw it , and the message was clear 1❤️

My mother said he was one of the most down to earth celebrities you could ever encounter. She remembered when he came to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and she said he sat on the steps of the restaurant across the street from store she worked in and he spent time chatting with the children that lived in the area. Bob Marley meant a lot to all of us as Caribbean people. Stars like Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Lord Kitchener, the Mighty Sparrow, Joseph Niles, Bob Marley and the Wailers and others, made us proud to be from these beautiful islands when they represented us on international stages, and still maintained that humane and sociable spark that makes us who we are.
