Stan Lee gets way more credit that he actually deserves, after all, he is marketable, but he never tried to remove all of his co-workers from the credits and claim he did everything by himself, unlike Bob Kane who constantly tried to claim he created Batman all by himself.

The difference between Bob and Stan is that Stan did have a vivid imagination to create these characters. The only issue was he was not very good at drawing but he would guide artist on how he envisioned the characters to look like. He also created a lot of comicbook character origins and participated in writing. Bob Kane all he did was come up with the name Batman.

All I have to do is throw ideas at someone like darts on a dartboard, hope they take one of those ideas and do something cool with it, then rush to the publisher and furiously demand that I receive full credit and everyone else be treated as ghost artists/writers. Maybe one day with the right crooked lawyer, I too can steal ideas and threaten to bury others in frivolous litigation to intimidate them from taking credit for an idea I stole from them.

I wonder what drove Bob Kane to do this in front of a camera. Sure it was quick and all, but that's pretty bad. If anything this is evidence how much of the work he was credited for was either traced or done by people he paid. "You sure have those reduced down to the barest of essentials". "We haven't been able to agree wether your name comes first or mine" In this context it kind of sounds like Stan Lee was making a bit of fun of Bob Kane's lackluster artwork and also the open secret that he hadn't done all the work on Batman but made sure others were not credited.

Kane drew those exact Batman, Penguin and Joker headshots literally hundreds of times. As someone who often doodles, I know that you don't need to be a great artist to pull off that kind of work! I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't properly sketch anything in the last 40 years of his life

The Batcave was created in the first serial of the 1943 Batman serial. Batman origianlly drove a regular car in the late 30s/early 40s comic books.

I think the screenplay comment was done as a passive aggressive jab against Bob on not giving co-creators credit. Granted Stan has been accused plenty of time on his creative input, but I always felt he attempted to give the bullpen the credit they deserve. Not much I can say on Bob though.

I just want to say that having seen all the hate towards Kane in the comments I will state my opinion. Yes he should've have given Bill Finger credit in first place and he may not have been the best artist in the industry but... hear me out... we should owe it to him for creating the concept of Batman and for putting his ego aside and recognising Bill's talent by hiring him to develop the character into what we know today. His simple art style is unique in that it has a nicely bold style that anyone can learn to draw and remember the comic art of 1940s was different to today's work. I wish he had credited Bill like everyone but perhaps at the time Bill didn't want the publicity and just enjoyed having a job and quiet life, plus Batman wasn't big at the time of the contract and Bill probably didn't realise how big the brand would become. So overall, its easy to slap Kane over the head but just realise he did acknowledge Bill later on and its cause of his admittance that we knew all about Bill, just a case of somebody being blinded by the product, or in this case bat.

Jeremiah Valeska I know this is 9 months old but I really don’t like all the hate you’re giving Bob Kane. For example Steve Ditko and Stan lee both worked on Spider-Man Stan lee wrote it and Steve Ditko drew a lot of amazing artwork for it and even gave some cool characters, what I’m getting at is that they both did equal share of amazing work but in the end Stan lee got more recognition. It’s the same case with bob kane and bill finger but bill finger got absolutely no recognition, but that isn’t a choice bob made it was DC. Bob also was a huge soul helper he brought bill fingers ideas to the paper and he also helped create a lot of villains such as: Scarecrow, Clayface, cat women, and hell two face was all his idea all these villains were. I just don’t like how people are bashing on bob kane for a choice dc comics made and not him

Bob Kane did one thing right: create a bunch of contracts to prevent the character from having major changes. Imagine what the woke ppl would do if he never did that
