Boatswain - Heavy Responsibility
The U.S. Navy occupational rating of boatswain's mate is a designation given by the Bureau of Naval Personnel to enlisted members, who were rated or "striking" for the rating, as a deck seaman. The informal reference/address for a boatswain's mate is "Boats".
The "Boats" form the core of a Navy ship's manpower ... keeping the ship in shape from top to bottom ... performing many of the crucial tasks to put and keep a ship underway.
A Boatswain's mate advances in rate ... as he/she becomes more specialized.

I did 20 years Navy. Was BM1, craft master.
Long live the deck apes. BMSN in the mid nineties. Made third before getting out. Just before getting frocked. If I didn’t meet my wife, I would have made a career of it. I went from driving aircraft carriers to lawn mowers 😂

A little late response lol but con was probably on the port or starboard bridge wings. There’s also phones connected to the bridge wings to inside the bridge in case the con gives an order from outside

Was a Boatswain's Mate in the United States Navy for 20 years. Then I was a Boatswain's Mate for another 11 years and 11 months military sealift command. Never heard of getting a tattoo over my scars??? I was too tired from working in the Navy and had no time to go to a tattoo parlor to get a tattoo... Was in the best tattoo parlors in the world Thailand Hong Kong Singapore. Drinking beer watching my idiot buddies get tattoos...

Should have bumped up to a license and gone over to commercial ships... money is insane and you don't work nearly as long or as hard for it as MSC.
Ummm,
Worst rate in the Navy
