Great analysis....I watch confused at first but then realized that he was a professional and in control.
The problem is for some, is they actually Charter these vessels, (hire them) normally with insane no refundable deposits, so they are very much tempted to go out in sea’s that are NOT favourable in anyway. Remember that if your ever going to hire a top end vessel, ask that one question, is this deposit refundable if the conditions are on the upper limits of safety? The answer will always be no..

This observation from Fenwick Island, DE - Whoa! Has a study ever been done on silly boat captains with back complaints later in life and disbelief on what the cause might have been? Our inlets at Ocean City, MD and Indian River, DE can see wavy water. Thank you.
At least the Sea Ray driver finally found the good sense to shut down for the day.

It's without a doubt a Sea Ray, look at a 93 Sea Ray 370. All windows match, rub rail near the transom falls off on that sharp angle, notice the 3 markings under the radar arch, top mounted wipers, bow railing and post same amount and angles.
5:58 - Capt was pulling it hard to port but the waves took it away from him. You can see him trying.

Look closely at the forward deck hatch on the way out and coming back in. It's completely missing on the way in. The crewman has nothing to open when he pops his head out. They must've blown it out when they stuffed on the way out and taken on a lot of water in the forward cabin area causing the extreme bow-down attitude coming in.
@m.mccabe9391
Жыл бұрын
@@buzzerlinger-ford I noticed that too. Boats are tough, but absolutely no need to navigate those conditions. Even if the boat can handle it, the passenger comfort is zilch.
Bow goes down , rudder goes up, steering gets light & what also looks like bad throttle timing . Hope they had a nice Dive.
NJ Canal: NO JETSKIS!!! REEE!!! FL Inlet: Jetski? YOLO!
This is extremely dangerous with that type of weather. Things can escalate REAL quick. A good example would be the rms Lusitania, a famous ocean liner that has its own story, one time in January of 1910, she hit a enormous 80 foot tall wave that nearly swamped her, if it weren't for he bow design and being a liner, afterwards, her bridge was battered and her bow was damaged, however she was repaired and continued to sail for another 5 years until she was sunk in ww1 by a German U-boat.
Its embarrassing to own something like that and not know how to operate it.

@fdenhertog
Жыл бұрын
@@user-dp4qk1bv4u Look at the images when she comes out and look at the images when she comes in. The hatch is not there anymore because they always open up to the outside. Also, the transom is bent with the jet ski on top and the front cabin will be a bit damp to say the least. Expensive trip for the owner. :)
@buzzerlinger-ford
Жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct! That forward deck hatch is definitely missing on the way back in. Compare to the shots of the bow on the way out. They must've blown it out and swallowed a ton of seawater causing the bow to ride very low, hence the extra-slow speed coming back in. That boat took a bad beating and the forward cabin will be a complete mess. So back to the original question - should you take your SeaRay yacht out in these conditions? Absolutely not!
The problem with the cruiser going out is compounded by several things, shallow dead rise on the bow, wide beam where the births are below deck and the bow deck drops down towards the water instead of remaining high. This can be seen perfectly as it wallows in the water re entering the channel. Finally watch the jet ski on the stern gets hammered as the women is tossed around going out. To say that boat is sea worthy in a storm is naive at best, its a cruiser only.
