So good to see a classic boat of its era in such good nick and being used as intended! A credit to you.

Yes, fully waterproof. I have just found the big bucket online at Solent Plastics. They sell a range. Matt

I had a Wayfarer once & often sailed with company aboard. In gusty breezes it would plane like a banshee. Only so much I would press it as a single- hander though

They do plane nicely, especially if you can keep them light.

Nice to see how you organise your boat Matt. My system isn’t that different to yours, other than my kit and fittings being more Heath Robinson. I like that you’ve removed your aft benches. Something I’d like to do but haven’t been able to let go of! In a class related topic we discussed storage in the forward buoyancy of which, this season I do intend to make more use of. Thanks for the upload. Always food for thought seeing other people’s rig set up.

Indeed it is good to see other boats. I still get ideas from others after all these years. Probably the main changes I have made over the years have been to simplify and downsize. Makes life much easier aboard.

What was the blue package tied to the boom? I've heard rumours Wayfarers can turn turtle, do you have buoyancy provisions at the masthead? If so what? Floatation in the mainsail in a pocket or a float on the mast?

@@andyjarman4958 Hi Andy. The blue thing is a pocket for reefing lines. And yes, some types of Wayfarer are prone to turtling. Mine is a woodie and tends not to so I don't have any sailhead bouyancy. If I were to own a World or a Mk 4 I would definitely have bouyancy. We fit bouyancy pockets and sell bags sopecially designed for Wayfarers

@@aeroluffsparsltd ahh, very interesting didn't know that. Being a ridiculous romantic about the look of boats I used to look down at blatantly modern looking dinghies. I bought an Ilur kit for my sin's. My better half is glad to get me out from under her feet. I spend my life in the workshop now learning the hard way how to build clinker hulls and how to mix epoxy. I see a Wayfarer under sail now, know it would cruise past "ye olde Ilur" with ease and have started to appreciate how sensible it is to buy a modern boat that doesn't require etiolated features and epoxy encrusted fingers as a rite of passage before you can sail the bloody thing!! Grrr! I wanna go sailing!

Fraid not. The development time for what is a small production run is too great.
