Our channel is meant as a resource to our customers and other like minded Wayfarer cruisers (and other small boat cruisers). Our tiny company was set up originally to market our version of genoa reefing spar for small boats, but has developed into one selling many of the bits and pieces thats we have found over the years have worked ofor us on our boats.

What do you do if you need a pish in the night?
Thank you 🙏🏻⚓️
Very helpful video thank you.
Thank you.
What type of dinghy is that?
Wayfarer, nice 1980s woodie.
Matt, I have been searching everywhere for stowage buckets like those you show here. Can't find the ideal. What make and model are yours?
Hi Mark. The big one came from Southampton Plastics and I think they sell others too. Matt
@@MatthewSharman Thanks for taking time to reply.
No problem. And sorry about the name thing
@@MatthewSharman Ha. Np too.
Do you miss views out of this though? A window or a half flap might be nice? I know here in Australia an internal mossie net would be a boon so that on clear nights I could just use the mossie net and no tent.
Hi. We only put the front half of the tent up until bedtime so infinite views!! Internal mossie net would be good in Scotland too having experienced their midges...
Nice design. Is the luff an aluminium section or some sort of plastic? Certainly furlers better than my wife luff job which has a Holt drum. Andy UK
Hi Andy. The spar is a composite of grp and carbon fibre hence its flexibility. It does work well I have to say.... matt
Nice set up. I just rescued a Mk 1 and will be fitting it out for camping so a tent will be great. What are the grey things in front of the spray defLector’s? Andy UK
I have just purchased one of these. It is easy to erect, fits perfectly and looks spot on.
Very impressive! Do you have any plans to do a video on how you’ve set your wayfarer out for Cruising? - ie control lines? That would be very interesting
Thanks Cameron. If you have a browse through my KZread channel you will find a video where I cover cruising set-up. One of the Scotland ones. Matt
Fantastic tent! Have you seen it installed on the Wayfarer MarkIV?
Hi. Yes, we have fitted it to a MK4. It does need different fixings though and a MK4 specific boom crutch.
VERY impressed with this tent. Stood up to pouring rain and lots of wind, and so light to store. And lots of room inside as the boom is lifted 30cm above the gooseneck. Quality kit.
I liked the look of this tent. So, on 10 December, I wrote asking whether it would fit my Sandweaver; if not, could it be modified. No answer. Today is Christmas Day; still no answer. Happy Christmas, Aeroluffspars. I hope sales are going well.
Really sorry. I did speak to the tent man about your boat and our view was that it may fit, but would need some modification. I suspect your boat may be narrower in the beam. Matt
@@aeroluffsparsltd And your answers to my questions are . . . . ?
@@johnstarkie9948 John. KZread is not the place for this discussion. Could you email me at [email protected] please. Thanks. Matt
@@aeroluffsparsltd I emailed you on 10 December. I’m still waiting for a reply.
So good to see a classic boat of its era in such good nick and being used as intended! A credit to you.
Thank you Andy. Kind of you to say so.
Have just dealt with these guys and the service was top draw, went the extra mile to get me sorted in a short time.
Thanks for the nice comment. We try... Matt
Thanks Barry - always nice to get feedback.
I had a Wayfarer once & often sailed with company aboard. In gusty breezes it would plane like a banshee. Only so much I would press it as a single- hander though
They do plane nicely, especially if you can keep them light.
Not sure if lighting boards are now acceptable in Europe.
More rules!!!
Just send me an email and I will contact you to discuss. Matt. [email protected]
Lovely Matt! By the way, as far as your tent goes… have you made one for a Mirror Dinghy?
Fraid not. The development time for what is a small production run is too great.
like the jib sheet set up
Thanks. Works very efficiently.
Do you have a tent which will fit a Cose Sound 20 mark 1 with aft lasarett? It is a design from B& B yacht design in North Carolina. It has a cat ketch rig which does not have booms but just sprits. The missen mast could be moved to a position just forward of the cock pit. What would it look like and what would it cost?
Afraid not. Wayfarers only. It's a shame really but the development costs are just too great.
Is the V crutch that holds the boom up sitting in slots or is just the weight of the boom holding it in place. Thank you.
Crutch just sits on the aft deck up against the edge of the side decks. Kicker and mainsheet hold it down.
Beautiful boat.
Thanks.
@@aeroluffsparsltd I think you guys own a composite Wayfarer?? I would love to have one, if you hear of one going up for sale I would be very interested. I like the idea of GRP hull but having a beautiful wood deck to look after would be great. Regards, Paul.
Yes. I have a composite MK1. Great boat.
👍👍👍
Yes, fully waterproof. I have just found the big bucket online at Solent Plastics. They sell a range. Matt
what are the jars - buckets with the red tops called? I can't find them. are they really water proof?
Yes, waterproof. Solent Plastics.
Nice to see how you organise your boat Matt. My system isn’t that different to yours, other than my kit and fittings being more Heath Robinson. I like that you’ve removed your aft benches. Something I’d like to do but haven’t been able to let go of! In a class related topic we discussed storage in the forward buoyancy of which, this season I do intend to make more use of. Thanks for the upload. Always food for thought seeing other people’s rig set up.
Indeed it is good to see other boats. I still get ideas from others after all these years. Probably the main changes I have made over the years have been to simplify and downsize. Makes life much easier aboard.
What was the blue package tied to the boom? I've heard rumours Wayfarers can turn turtle, do you have buoyancy provisions at the masthead? If so what? Floatation in the mainsail in a pocket or a float on the mast?
@@andyjarman4958 Hi Andy. The blue thing is a pocket for reefing lines. And yes, some types of Wayfarer are prone to turtling. Mine is a woodie and tends not to so I don't have any sailhead bouyancy. If I were to own a World or a Mk 4 I would definitely have bouyancy. We fit bouyancy pockets and sell bags sopecially designed for Wayfarers
Power of the internet!!
@@aeroluffsparsltd ahh, very interesting didn't know that. Being a ridiculous romantic about the look of boats I used to look down at blatantly modern looking dinghies. I bought an Ilur kit for my sin's. My better half is glad to get me out from under her feet. I spend my life in the workshop now learning the hard way how to build clinker hulls and how to mix epoxy. I see a Wayfarer under sail now, know it would cruise past "ye olde Ilur" with ease and have started to appreciate how sensible it is to buy a modern boat that doesn't require etiolated features and epoxy encrusted fingers as a rite of passage before you can sail the bloody thing!! Grrr! I wanna go sailing!
