I'm booked on the Bliss in a solo studio for November 12-19, 2023 to Mexico. Looking forward to it, and have already made a friend with someone else traveling on the same cruise (also as a solo, but not in a studio). A bit nervous and excited at the same time, as it will be my first solo cruise. Looking forward giving you an update at a later date!

My friend and I are doing NCL this December for New Years Each of us booked a solo cabin. I am too excited for this experience. Every time I’ve cruised I was sharing a cabin with 2 other people. Not saying that I had a bad experience because my last cruise on Royal was balcony and I felt like I couldn’t cruise no other way after that but this is about to be on another level of comfort and privacy which I value very much. I see they have solo balconies on Royal so I’ll definitely have to give that a try next time 😊

This was the Getaway out of Florida! Sister ship to breakaway. We have a cruise booked for March out of New Orleans.

I agree with you 100%! I am going on my first cruise in a few short weeks to Western Caribbean on the Breakaway and I love the idea of the solo cabins. Why get a bigger room to spread out when you have an entire ship to wander about. I don't plan to stay in my room for long periods of time and I am doing excursions in every port (even on embarkation day). I don't travel to sit around. I can do that at home. If I'm traveling, I'm doing stuff. I'm not a lounger, so long days at the pool isn't my thing. I like to stay on the move. Only sea days will I be able to chill out somewhere. Maybe at the spa or the hot tub!! I know many people who are paying triple the amount to stay in a balcony room. I get the concept but heck no will I waste money on a space I will barely get to see. If I was going with other people and we are sharing a room, then that's fine. But I wouldn't do it alone. I don't see the point of wasting the money when I can use it towards new adventures and experiences!! To me that is more precious than a balcony. But I get it. Some people want to have open air access without the crowds. Isn't that the purpose of cruising? Anyways, I love NCL's solo cabins that encourages more people to get out of their comfort zone and get into exploring the world more. Happy Cruising!

@@TravelDetours Thanks! I've heard from a lot of people telling me that I should book the balcony because I would be claustrophobic and all. But I don't see that as a problem. My cubbie in my office is about the same size and it's cozy. I prefer to be in a smaller space that is cozy and dark. What most appealed to me about the solo cabins is that the hallway is only accessible by other solos and not by families or folks with extracurricular activities. And the coffee in the Studio Lounge. As a woman traveling alone, it's a real comfort to me to be in a space that is going to be quiet. I'm looking forward to some good vacation sleep....you know the kind! Anyways, I also saw your video to the DR and I was so jealous! It looked like so much fun! I want to plan that as my next trip next year. What ship were you on and what was the itinerary!! Great Vlogs and thanks for all that you do!

@Bradman77 I loved every moment I have a video of my solo on breakaways sister ship.

All I know is if Carnival had this on ships then it would be a game changer for sure. I feel like a lot of times as a solo cruiser you not only pay double occupancy and pay for two but I feel like a good bit of the time if's even more expensive than it would be if it was 2 people. I looked at one cruise and it was 1200 and something for two people all in but for one person it was like 1458.

Cheryl, I went on my first cruise ever as a solo on the Bliss to Alaska last May. Don’t let anyone tell you differently - it was a blast. There are plenty of people more than happy to keep you company if you want it. If not, you won’t run out of things to do. You’ll have fun and enjoy some “you” time!

I'll be cruising in a solo cabin on Getaway later this year, and my cabin was actually more expensive than an inside cabin by about $50. The inside cabin was in a very undesirable place for me, and my travel agent was able to get me the solo cabin for what I would've paid for the inside cabin. I would think a solo cabin would be cheaper than anything onboard because it's so tiny, but it's not. Don't know if you did an "after cruise" review of the cabin, but appreciated seeing it and part of the embarkation, and other parts of the ship. Thank you for sharing this.

The lounge is always open but no bar tender during the day. Yes there are get together on the schedule but not many people showed up after the first day

The pricing is different yes. They are priced for a single yet they are a large percentage less than booking a standard room per person. On my cruise I looked at a 2 person room for the price of 399 per person. While my solo room was 529 for me. I have not looked at every cruise but in my case that is a huge discount. You can not look at the per person price but the total room charge. On most other cruise lines you are forced to pay full room price so I believe this is a great option. The next cruise I’m looking at is $699 for a solo room while it is $499 for a regular inside cabin. But for me bc alone to book will be $998 for that room cause it’s duel occupation

Check out MSC they don't have a solo supplement or if they do, it's very very small.

It was just called Park Port Canaveral Cruise Parking There was no covered parking but yes the shuttle was free. 321-784-0000
