I watch this Movie around 1985, being 9 Years old. After that i fell in Love with the BMX Society and my Grandfather(Rest In Peace Granddaddy) bought me a Yellow BMX, the best in whole Town!

i´m haveing goosbumps again, seeing this trailer i watch this movie 1000 times over on VHS and im 39yo now still gives me good feelings.

Man I love this movie. About as good as “innocent fun” movies get...which is about as good as movies get... The chase scene at the end...wow. This film reminds me of Shiva!

I remember very little of this movie, but I remember the song and I remember being absolutely fascinated with the foley art. I wanted to ride a BMX bike solely based on the sounds in this movie.

I may not have been in the 80s which i was born 2 decades later but if i had a time machine i'd go to the 80s.

I had a Dyno Detour Pro growing up and my best friend had a GT Pro Performer. I remember the 3 mongoose color paddings, the red the blue and the black.

BMX Bandit is the perfect movie for Adelaide.

Loved this movie as a kid and just watched it last week on Amazon Prime for free.

This is a great exploitation film. And it’s family-friendly. Incredible. I remember this being great fun on cable TV in the 80s.

In Australia this was released on K-Tel video. Weird when you consider they are not known for movies.

this is the first movie i know her from when i watchd this back in 80´s and 90´s on VHS i saw this movie like trillion times

When I was 13 y.o in 1983 - I could only dream of a Diamondback/PK Ripper/Mongoose etc......I had an Apollo 12 speed racer- loved it but wasn't the same.....

Around '85 I was able to buy a used '83 Schwinn Stingray. Tricked it out with Skyway Tuff 2 Mags, Haro gooseneck, laid back Haro seat, Lucky Dice tire caps, soft red and black ODI Mushroom Grips. Some evil bastard stole it 2 years later. I got a used Mongoose after that, but it just wasn't the same... plus it was way too heavy. I sold it to my cousin and ended up cracking the frame on a big jump.

The audio is terrible. The music is way too loud I can barely hear the dialogue. Use an EQ and lower the mid range frequencies on the music to open up the voices.

Does anyone remember a different BMX dirt jumping movie where bad guys chase kids and they go through a tube over a car or something? I think it was shown on Nickelodeon sometimes in the 80s.

I used 2 tracks in this. The main one is from the soundtrack titled 'opening track'. The one at the end (which is prob the one you are asking about) is 'Ready to Fly (Kangaroo Hop)' by The Papers.

@@mrbolliger8805 Yeh I couldn't actually find what that song is called either. Most of the music in the movie is unsearchable. I have the movie on dvd so I just ripped the song of it. I did find this video on youtube- kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmxpmMqoeMWWXbQ.html but it's not that good a quality.

I'm not sure, I think it had a release in the US. It would have been very limited though. I think this movie caught on in the states after the VHS release. 👍
