    The entire linkage on the drivers side fell off for me while driving. Very scary experience as I couldnt see and was driving at 50mph or so at night. Thanks for this video, exactly what I needed.

    Just replaced the same wiper arm on my e60 with the same fault as yours...found your video very helpful [ i'm not really a DIYer] but after watching your video i thought i'd give it ago...the 2 spanner thing helped to get the drive arm off [but it took some doing] the rest was simple enough even for me, anyway wiper arm fitted and works as it should and smoother than before and saved some money not getting it fitted at a garage...CHEERS TIMM

    Amazing video, incredibly helpful as always! I was mortified when the linkage came apart at the hand car wash, thinking, here goes another £150-£200... I just done the replacement, 20 mins tops the trick with the spanners made all the difference, and to swap the wiper blades around. Will be back for more little fixes!

    Tim, great video, very methodical and a good pace of explanation. Thank you very much for covering the torque settings on the nuts. I’m assuming this will apply to the rear wipers to the e61 and e87 albeit different torque settings. What do you do for a living, just intrigued as I could listen to you all day long lol. Tc thanks.

    @@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation Hi Timm I have a question for you. I just replaced my thermostat 2 weeks ago. On my 2005 645ci. What is the name of the sensor on the opposite side of the thermostat. It's round and has a brass or copper base, with a black connector wire that you Squeeze to disconnect. Again what is the name of that sensor or switch 🤔. Thanks in advance for all your help 😊

    Hello Alvin, there's two connectors on the water pump housing - one for the electrically heated thermostat, the other is the coolant temperature sensor - both can be seen on this diagram: www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=EB52-EUR-06-2007-E64N-BMW-650i&diagId=11_3274

    Is the part on the description the one you used ? I need to replace that exact one on a 630i but im not sure if its left or right ( id consider it left ) or if both arms are the same ?

  • @bernardwright2255
    @bernardwright22553 жыл бұрын

    Hello Timm, The other annoying noise is the flip flap when the arm changes direction when wiping. It would appear to be the fitting of the rubber blade in the holder. If it is not firm enough it makes noise. This can happen after a blade change and not a total wiper replacement. When undoing that 16mm nut you were fighting against the wiper motor. Better to hold the metal piece that was all wobbly and let it have the reaction. The car looks very nice and clean. Regards

    There's normally a wiper relay, perhaps yours has died. But I'd put a voltmeter on the wiper motor to see if it's getting power, maybe something in the mechanism has seized.
