Time, you are the best! I've been watching your videos for a couple of years now, anticipating the day one of these problems will arise on my E64. The Boseman poke saved the day! You're the best! 😊

I have a 2000 e38 that via INPA says there is a line break to the front left speed sensor, however I have tried pulling my own wire and the problem persists. I also swapped the sensor without change. My lights don't come on when I first put the key in but instead as soon as the wheels start rotating even slightly! Any idea?

For me the E31still looks better in mora metallic, but this is a stunning example! I've never seen an interior like that, they've covered absolutely everything in leather.

Tim what do you think of an overall quite nice 840ci, but with significant rusting around three of the inner edges of the wheel arches, I guess due to years on salted British roads. The car mechanics/paintwork is quite good everywhere else/inside and out. Can much be done with wheel arches these days?, mostly where they form the edge lip, there is not too much bubbling visible side on. I don't know much about body repairs, but maybe magic can be done by a good body shop, or would you avoid?

Whats the expected life of a Cam shaft sensor? I had this exact problem on my E31 some years back, had it replaced. Drove the car for a few years after and then it's been off road (in storage) since, so I am wondering how long the new sensor should last before I might expect to perhaps meet this problem again? What a wonderful channel and stunning knowledge of classic BMW's. Please do keep going Tim.

...funny idea instead of... ...drive fast enough => then no water will come into the rear window-opening ! BytheWay => I love this rear window for longer trips in summertime on the "Autobahn" in certain climate conditions => you get much better "fresh" air as from the air-condition and you have nearly no noise => E64 => best car evert!

Hello Timm, watching your video I just get an impulse to go down to the garage and have a look at the timing-chain in my 650 cab, cause my last Oil-Change must be years ago... => ...is it a "bad sign", if the aluminum of the bearing-housing beside the chain is still clear (and looks silver-grey like aluminum-cast is looking when it's new) => so mine has no "golden curtain" in front? (...as seen in your video ;-) My 650 is from 2006, bought it in 2010 with 60.000km and drove it until 2013 up to about 90.000km Since then I only drove few 100km per year = about 5.000km in total (due to wife, kids, house, garden, etc :-) Watching your clip I got feelings to change my oil immediately => but looking at the attached sticker "...last Oil-Change in 2015" => I think I can rest down for one year and reach the "Decade" ;-) P.S.: nice Color of yours (it's "Barbera rot metallic", right ?) - mine is "Malachit-Grün" (would say: black-green-mineralic-flittering) with black "Pearl-Leather" E64's are like good wines - the older they get - the better they are !!!

Absolutely fantastic video. I’m thinking about a 645 and have come across a O4 manny up for sale about 1.5 hrs away. 95k on clock but MOT history mentions oil leak as an advisory for past 3 MOTs / few thousand miles. Does that sound bearable or walk away?

Hi Timm. Thank you for this really useful video. Worth noting that your method also gives access to the PDC sensors in the front bumper. It enabled me to swap out my middle left sensor that was not working. Unfortunately, the sensor still does not work so I'm thinking it must be a wiring issue!... unless you have any other ideas?!

The older 80-90s bimmer prices are going up. I used to get 3, 5, 7 series and Z3 cars for less than $3k. Now people want twice that for shit boxes that need a lot of repairs.

Hello! Just discovered your channel. I live in the US (California) and have a 1993 850Ci that I love, 3rd owner, 135K miles, had it since 2007 and, as my mechanic says, I will be buried in it - not due to accident but because I will never let it go. I knew that jumping was a bad idea, but since mine is currently dead due to being out of town and not driving it and so happy I saw your video. I will invest in 2 new batteries to be safe. An aside, I watched your vid of getting your car back after accident and you mentioned the headliner sagging. I just got mine done at my local BMW specialist (Coast Motor Werk) and it looks amazing - they did an ultrasuede that matches my gray interior perfectly and apparently will "never" sag. They did an amazing job. I also had the bushings replaced since apparently my engine was resting on my exhaust system. Very different drive after, and I'm not sure I like it since I was not used to a bouncy ride. Mine is silver OG color that is super faded. I am considering Techno Violet (individual color) but love the Maura metallic that you have. Thank you for the videos and the detailed information.

The brake line being twisted has happened to me twice, once when I did it on my ST24 some years ago and once when my friend had work done at a garage, so it is literally an error that can happen to professionals and amateurs alike.

Hi Timm, great video of the 850 CSI. I am the current owner and have been for the last 2 years. I bought the car from Munich Legends. It was not in the best shape and needed some mechanical attention as well as cosmetic. Since buying the car I have spent a huge amount of money to get it to the standard it is in currently. It is now turn key ready and I have enjoyed 3000 miles in the car with plenty more road trips and shows planned. I exhibited the car at the NEC Show where it was voted favourite car, and also exhibited it this year in March too. I also took it to Hampton Court Concours where it won an award also, much to my surprise! It has also been featured in several magazines in the last 2 years. The car is truly incredible, if you are up for it, I’m sure we could arrange a suitable time and I could show you the car properly including the interior. Please reach out to me or I will try drop you an email if it’s easier. Also, the exhaust system on the car was how it came from Munich Legends. I have an original but it is too quiet in my opinion The only change I’ve made is the airbag in the steering wheel. As you can see it is now colour coded to match the interior. The black airbag was such an eye sore and ruined the beauty. BMW never coloured the airbags for ‘safety’ reasons so I am told Also I am not selling the 850, but it is their purely for display and marketing purposes 😎 I think it is great that the car has returned to the supplying dealer for display once again P.S. the E34 M5 is also mine 😁

Timm, first off, thanks for all the videos. Very, very cool. I had a couple questions I'd hope you could answer. First off, is the HT-12 coolant a suitable alternative to the g48? It is difficult to find the g48 in BMW brand (Zerex is available), even online sometimes. I have read that the HT-12 is ok to use but I would like the best for the 650. Which leads to the pcv and mechatronix seals. Would you personally use a cheaper pcv or get OEM BMW part? Same with Mechatronix seals and solenoids? Do you think that with these parts it would be ok to use non oem replacements. It seems I have fallen into a gem, however, we have no true way of knowing how the previous owner treated her. Same for the mechanics. Trustworthy? Who can say. After watching your videos, though. I have decided there are a few things I have the ability to do to keep her in great shape and give me a bit more peace of mind. Thanks for your time and the videos. -Adam
