It was intense VERY INTENSE if you look at the time difference from the CCC to the newer system you will see how long in total the install took.

Looks excellent great to watch and looks a great piece of equipment. Think I would personally of tried it all prior to putting all the trim back in place (im sure you did off camera) to make sure everything was working, I’ve learnt that the hard way :-)

Yeah but I have A lot of experience in electrical systems for BMW and I knew it would work as I wired it correctly this isn’t the first time I ever done this. I have done this probably 100 times before with the old ccc units having to rewire them from people cutting it all out to hardwire other stereos.

So we need the original CCC to be in working condition right? Mine is not even turning on so original screen, music, parking, system not shown, will this one still work?

What do you think about Bmw egr delete / blank cap? You can search it up un ebay. Much cheaper way to delete egr. You just need to insert blank cap near exhaust.

Did you have to connect this to the aux for audio

It does indeed and I love the fact of the HD screen it’s much much better and brighter and it’s a open platform install what you wish no control from BMW. Watch video in motion , install memory card and do what you want , download any apps you want and you don’t have to pay £50 for the NBT to have apple car play unlike what BMW want to activate it on the F series.

my question is, is there a possibility of having only the head unit without the radio unit working. this is because i have a BMW e91 my head unit started to restart consecutively until i stopped giving something. I went to a technician to make a diagnosis on the machine. He said that it was the radio unit that is malfunctioning (a thing that happens a lot) and its arrangement is 300 euros. That's why I ask if there is an android head unit that does both.

I'm a little bummed. I thought you were going to show how to retrofit an NBT in to a CCC car. I actually put in my Android panel on my E70 a few months ago. I too had the CCC system. I bought my unit second hand, so it doesnt have the latest hardware. Its a bit limited. I live in the US, and there is no way to flip settings over to Imperial. So everything shows in metric, which isnt exactly helpful. The two big bonuses is that it added a quality Bluetooth audio connection to my car, and it looks a hell of allot nicer than the original CCC screen. Otherwise, it doesnt really bring much to the table. For the low price of $150 which is what i paid for it, I'm pretty happy with just the two nice add ons. One question though. I noticed that I can no longer reach my CCC modules to do any coding or diagnostics. I strongly suspect this is because of that big black square connector essentially intercepting everything meant for the CCC and passing it to the Android panel. Have you noticed the same? I may have to replug the CCC directly back in to do a bit of coding. I want to disable the weather channels on my CCC unit, and then enable Satellite radio; which I bought a module for but havent yet used.

I've fitted a similar system to my E90, all works fine but when I unlock the car, a red car on a lift light come up on my dashboard then disappears. The car doesn't show any faults in iDrive, the light only shows for a few seconds when I unlock the car, any idea?

Hey Dr. Dean, I’ve had this unit for about a year now ( on my ‘08 x5 3.0si ) also from 4x4 shop Canada... it’s absolutely remarkable! My only concern is, after about three months or so I started getting a blank screen saying “ No Signal “ whenever I tried to switch to the android side. I reached out to 4x4 shop but they still don’t have answer. Please help.

What is the make and model of this unit please?

Does my car need aux for this unit, I have E60 with professional idrive but no aux

I installed a system into my e60. I found the interface was sluggish and terrible so I rewired it so the data cables didn't go through the unit but instead the unit tapped onto the wires so the factory system remained solid. The only problem I have now is that the audio from the unit is quiet until you go into the sound menu. Which is required everytime you drive the car. Be interested on other people's experiences.

It does indeed have a SD CARD SLOT and it takes a 4G SIM card to use the internet on the go

It does Mario indeed bro I'm very happy with it. I was going to install this to my M5 But changed my mind as I don't use the M5 as much as I use my N52. The M5 I don't know man just doesn't feel the same as my N52 I have such a passion for that engine and there really isn't anything in the M5 my other E60 don't have, This is why I'm in two minds about selling it. But I'm not sure yet maybe put it in storage Just nothing beats the N52 for me I love that engine and when I drive it thats it. But it ain't like that for me with the M5

It has been 4 months any updates on your satisfaction with the unit? I have an E64 with CCC I would like to update.

Does this system put a fault triangle in the dash as there is usually a miscommunication with the computer when it’s verifying the service miles and actual miles.

No my friend it keeps your original system and adds what Bmw “COULD” of added when these era BMWs were released but they kept it back to make more money and sell newer systems. Instead it took the Chinese to come up with this

@@BMWDoctor great video Dean. Winced when you pulled the dash apart. I have seen these systems on Ali baba and Amazon. Just a bit too new to test so keep us updated. My ccc on my e61 is dated the sat nav is pointless when google maps and drive are owning it right now and only I use the blue tooth dongle fitted via the aux for music. Annoying when it drops communication and buzzes at full volume when power drops out. As always class info, I bought my BMW after watching your vids. Knowing this knowledge is out there raises the bar of internet mechanics. Keep it up and don’t lose faith in your fellow e60 followers.

It won’t. Interior line is different. It can work as in the connectors are the same, fitment won’t be great. Also watch out for mediatek 8 core cpu’s which are currently flooding the market. You’ll ideally want a snapdragon 625.
